Chapter 11
“Just… let me see him once a month, okay?”
I stared at him, unmoved. He looked up at me.
“He’s not just your son. He’s mine too.”
“That’s not just a right–it’s a responsibility.”
I sighed and gave a small nod.
Nathan brought our son over, and the three of us shared a painfully quiet meal
Afterwards, our boy played with his toys by the bed.
Nathan said something to him–I don’t know what–but he suddenly looked more grown–up.
Then he turned to me, his little eyes full of tears.
“Mommy… does it still hurt?”
I looked into his face, and my eyes burned with tears all over again.
