Chapter 5
When I opened my eyes again, it was already the evening of the third day.
I was lying in a hospital bed. The nurse told me a kind passerby had brought me in.
I checked my phone–Tyler hadn’t sent me a single message.
In the past, no matter how busy he was, he always texted me goodnight and reminded me to eat breakfast.
The nurses were huddled together with their phones, whispering with envy:
“Did you hear? The heir to Hayes Enterprises is getting engaged. His fiancée is the Parker heiress. Mr. Hayes has loved Miss Parker since childhood. Last night he bought up all the fireworks in the city to propose!”
“Not just that. It was even held at Disney, and he rented out the entire place! What’s more! There was also a band performance. I heard that it was a program that Mr. Hayes personally designed specifically for Miss Parker. I’m so
envious of her!”
I stood there, lost in a reverie, when my phone rang. It was the manager from a part–time position I had taken up previously.
“Emma, we have a client hosting a bachelor party tonight who needs a mascot performer. The pay is excellent. I know you need money, so I personally vouched for you. Don’t let me down, okay?”
I wanted to refuse, but this manager had always been good to me, always thinking of me first for jobs. I didn’t want to make things difficult for him, so I agreed.
Besides, I’d given Tyler all my savings and I didn’t plan to use his check. I still needed to survive.
I used my earnings from the escape room job to settle my hospital bill–the first time in five years I’d spent money
on myself.
Tyler didn’t need my pittance anymore anyway.
I smiled bitterly.
Well, Tyler’s “prince–turned–frog” game was over. He could return to his palace and be with his true love.
They were the perfect match–equal in status, talented and beautiful.
We were never from the same world.
The past five years were just a bitter–sweet dream. Now that I’ve awakened, we should each return to our proper places.
What I didn’t expect was that the client hosting the bachelorette party was Olivia.
In the private room were Olivia and other wealthy young women and men, all looking at me with contempt.

Chapter 5
Olivia arrogantly threw a set of clothes at my feet.
“I heard from your manager that Miss Star is excellent at pleasing clients. Put these on and entertain my friends.”
It was a clown costume, but with a strange design–the neckline was extremely low, and the entire back was exposed.
I politely responded:
“Sorry, Miss Parker, this violates our work regulations. I’ve prepared a Snoopy costume and can perform magic tricks for you and your friends.”
The next second, a sharp slap landed on my face, stinging intensely.
Olivia’s manner completely changed from her previous generous and caring demeanor. She smiled sarcastically:
“Oh, how thoughtful of you to pick that–finally embracing your true canine nature, are you?! But, in your line of work, the clients MAKE THE RULES!!”
Olivia continued speaking with a taunting tone.
“If you won’t change, I’ll have to assume your manager lied to me, and his business will suffer.”
For these wealthy people, destroying a small business was effortless. I couldn’t let the manager take the fall.
Biting my lip, I picked up the clown outfit and began to put it on.
Olivia lazily interrupted:
“Wait. Don’t you have any professional standards? Take off all your clothes first and do it in front of us. Otherwise, you might run away.“,
After she spoke, the men on the sofa immediately looked at me with lewd expressions.
By now, it was obvious Olivia was deliberately trying to humiliate me.
“I’m sorry, but I cannot fulfill your request. I won’t take the payment either. Please find someone else, Miss Parker.”
I turned to leave, but two men forcefully held me back.
One of them kicked my knee hard, causing me to drop to the floor in pain.
Olivia approached, slapped me more than a dozen times, and mockingly said:
“That’s better. Poor trash like you should be kneeling before me.”
She grabbed my hair, forcing me to look up at her:
“Tyler told you his mother was critically ill and that he owed a lot of money, right? That was just a lie to fool an idiot like you. I can’t believe you were so eager to throw yourself at him.”
“You’re nothing but a plaything he used to make me jealous. Yet you dared to call him, asking to get married? Who

do you think you are?!”
“Those few thousand dollars you transferred to him over five years–he used it all to please me. Every time I replied to his message, he’d transfer me a thousand dollars to please me.
Too bad it was so little money–gone after just a few words. Tyler had to use his own money. You’re so useless even when you’re throwing yourself at him!”
“So this is the cheap body you used to seduce Tyler? Since you’re so hungry for men, my friends here will gladly
oblige.”
“STRIP HER!!”
