Chapter 47 She’s Not Worthy Of You
He just felt that it wasn’t good to sit and eat ready–made food. He wanted to come over and help her, but she didn’t seem to want him to help her.
Marcus stood awkwardly at the side and did not move. When Celeste saw this, she washed a plate of fruits and stuffed it into his hand.
“Eat some fruits to fill your stomach first. I’ll call you when I’m done cooking.”
Marcus said, “Are you sure there’s nothing you need me to do for you?”
He was a patient who had just completed two large–scale surgeries. Now, he could not even lift anything. Other than sitting down and eating fruits, what else could he do?
“I’m pretty sure I don’t need you to do anything. Go out and stay.” As soon as Celeste finished speaking, she continued to chop and cook.
In order to avoid disturbing her, Marcus finally went to the living room to eat fruits under her instructions.
Looking at the lychees inside, he peeled them all and placed them aside.
Not long after, Celeste walked out of the kitchen. She carried the food to the dining table and put it down.
“Mr. Hale, dinner is ready. You can come over to enjoy it.”
Marcus nodded and sat down at the dining table with a plate of fruits. “I peeled it when I was bored. Eat it after dinner.”
Celeste was speechless. There were so many lychees. He peeled all of them? They would spoil if she couldn’t finish them.
What a waste.
Celeste did not say anything and sat down to eat with Marcus.
Tonight, she stir–fried shredded potatoes and stir–fried meat with lettuce.
There were almost no seasonings inside. It was similar to a child’s meal.
However, Marcus was very satisfied.
After dinner.
Celeste took out the soup from the pot and placed it in front of Marcus. “Have a bowl of soup to nourish your body.”
Marcus raised his eyebrows. “Did you make it especially for me?”
Celeste took the remaining soup and replied, “I specially made this for myself. You just happened to drink it because of me.”
As soon as she finished speaking, Celeste drank the soup under Marcus‘ gaze. When she was done, she washed the dishes and began to chase him away.
“Mr. Hale, you have changed your dressing and eaten. Shouldn’t you go home?”
Marcus looked at Celeste, who was so anxious to chase him away. He raised his eyebrows and said, “Yes. I’ll live next door to you from today onwards. Since you’ve agreed to be my caregiver again, I’ll look for you when you’re resting.”
When did she agree to be his caregiver? She just saw that his wound was bleeding today and simply helped him treat it.
How did he misunderstand?
When Celeste tried to refuse, Marcus stood up and left her sight to return to the room next door.
Celeste hissed and could only stop saying.
It was better to wait until she saw him tomorrow.
After a long day, she wanted to rest.
Next door.
Marcus had just returned to his apartment when he received a call from Nora. “Marcus, Isolde said that you weren’t at home. Where did you go?”
In order to matchmake Isolde and Marcus, Nora specially brought her entire family out to give the two of them a chance to have some alone time.
However, not long after Nora left, Isolde called her and said that Marcus had run away.
This made Nora furious. Why didn’t her son cherish the private time she had specially arranged for them?
As long as his relationship with Isolde was nurtured well, wouldn’t he not need to marry that stupid and ugly Celeste?
Nora had heard from Isolde that Isolde’s younger sister, who had just been found, had poor grades and was disfigured.

Moreover, she had recently been expelled from her original school.
Most importantly, she was an ignorant and incompetent hooligan. She smoked, drank, and gambled
If such a woman was really married to her son, her Hale family would probably become a joke in the eyes of the entire
Ravenshire.
That was why she used different methods to matchmake him and Isolde
After all, Isolde was a talented girl with good grades, looks, and character. Although she was not the real daughter of the Huxley family, she was much more outstanding than the real daughter of the Huxley family
Therefore, she had to matchmake her son with Isolde.
“Marcus, why aren’t you answering me? I’m asking you where you are now”
Marcus walked back to his room and said, “I wanted to recuperate quietly alone, so i came to the apartment.”
Nora looked unhappy with Marcus‘ arrangements. “You haven’t even recovered. Something will happen if you stay in the apartment alone. How about I get Isolde to take care of you? This way, your father, grandfather, and I will be more at ease.” “Mom, I told you that I don’t like Isolde, but why did you send her to me?”
This was because she was very satisfied with her daughter–in–law, Isolde!
So she wanted to matchmake her and her son,
Moreover, she did not understand. Isolde was so outstanding. Why did he look down on her?
Could it be that after so many years, he still hadn’t given up on that woman whom he fell in love with at first sight?
Back then, when something happened in the forest, he had only met that woman once.
But why couldn’t he let it go?
She was really curious. How beautiful was that woman to make his son unable to forget her?
Nora came back to her senses and said, “Marcus, you’re not a kid anymore. In addition, the real daughter of the Huxley family, Celeste, has been found.
“If you don’t marry Isolde according to my instructions, you’ll be forced by your grandfather to marry that useless woman, Celeste!
“Comparing the two of them, no matter what, I feel that Isolde is still the best. Therefore, I’ll arrange for Isolde to come and look for you later. You’re not allowed to keep her outside, understand?”
Could his mother really not leave him alone? Marcus said annoyingly, “I won’t be with Isolde according to your request.” Then, he hung up on Nora.
On the other end of the line, Nora was agitated by his actions. She exhaled and sent an address to Isolde.
Nora asked Isolde to look for Marcus directly.
Nora didn’t believe that they couldn’t cultivate a relationship after spending so much time together.
After Marcus hung up on Nora, he had a bad feeling. He knew his mother well. If she said that she wanted Isolde to come and take care of him, she would definitely do as she said.
In order to avoid being pestered by her, he packed his clothes from the apartment and went to Celeste’s apartment to knock on the door.
Celeste had just come out of the shower when she heard a series of knocks on the door. She wrapped herself in a towel and went to the door to check.
Seeing that it was Marcus, she opened the door. “Mr. Hale, you just left for a while and came back again. Why are you looking for me?”
“Didn’t you say your employer wasn’t home?”
Celeste frowned. “Yes.”
“Then can I stay here for the time being?” Marcus asked.
‘What? He wants to stay at my house?‘ Celeste was confused.
Celeste felt as if she was hearing things. “Mr. Hale, although my employer is not at home, it doesn’t seem appropriate for you to stay with me.”
