Chapter 15
Chapter 15
I turned to the Quinn with a grateful nod. “Thanks for the ride.”
With everything settled, I slipped my hand into Quinn’s, our fingers intertwining effortlessly as we began walking toward the hotel.
Before leaving, I glanced back at Leo–his entire frame tense, his expression shattered beyond repair.
I met his eyes one last time and smiled, gentle but distant.
“Goodbye, Leo.”
And just like that, I turned away, stepping fully into Quinn’s embrace.
His arms tightened around me instinctively, his warmth seeping into my skin, grounding me.
As I buried my face against his chest, I caught a glimpse of Leo from the corner of my eye.
He had fallen to his knees in the snow, his shoulders shaking, completely undone.
But that had nothing to do with us anymore.
Quinn held me closer, resting his chin lightly on the top of my head. His voice was low, tender–his words laced with something deeper than love.
“If, one day, we stand beneath the same snowfall again, then in this life, we’ve already grown old
together.”
Then, with the softest touch, he pressed a kiss to my forehead.
Wrapped in warmth, standing on the edge of something new, I realized-
Happiness begins with learning how to cherish it.
