Kaius’s fingers moved faster inside me, a slick, relentless rhythm that mirrored the frantic pace my mouth worked on Frost. Pleasure coiled tighter and tighter in my belly, a desperate, thrumming knot pushing me towards shattering. My head was thrown back, caught between the hard pressure in my mouth and the invasive stroking within. FrostKaiusThe names were breathless moans, tangled together

I was on the very edge, seconds from collapsing into release, when abruptly, his fingers withdrew. A stark, aching emptiness flooded me, a sudden, jarring void. I whimpered in protest, the loss almost painful

But the void lasted only a heartbeat. Something thick and intensely Hot pressed against my entrance, testing, nudging. Then, with a slow, deliberate pressure, it slid inside

A sharp, involuntary cry tore from my throat as Kaius filled me completely, stretching me, replacing the emptiness left by his fingers with a deeper, more demanding presence. Conscious thought dissolved, leaving only pure, driving need. My body was no longer mine; it belonged to the sensations, to the raw, undeniable pleasure radiating from where he filled me and where Frost remained heavy in my mouth

Instinct took over. My hips bucked, grinding against him, seeking more friction, more depth. Faster, harder, chasing the peak that shimmered just out of reach. He met my desperate thrusts with his own powerful rhythm, driving deeper with each surge

The climax built like a tidal wave, overwhelming everything. As I felt his final, powerful thrust begin, ready to pour his release into me, I arched hard, my hips slamming upwards one last time, seeking maximum friction, needing that final push over the edge…

And slammed against something unyieldingly solid

The jolt ripped me from the dream. I gasped for breath, my eyes flying open. Not Kaius’s chambers. My own room in this gilded cage. The moonlight streamed through the meshcovered window, illuminating the familiar space. My heart hammered against my ribs, my skin flushed and slick with sweat, a lingering, insistent throb echoing between my legs

Heat flooded my face, a deep blush creeping up my neck. Mortification washed over me as I realized what I’d been dreaming, who I’d been dreaming of, and how my body had instinctively acted out the climax against the unfeeling wood. I quickly pulled my legs back, curling onto my side, burying my burning face in the pillow

A knock at the door sent me scrambling for the blankets. Just a minute,I called, my voice mortifyingly breathless

I threw on the clothes Kaius had provided and attempted to smooth my tangled hair before opening the door. Frost stood in the hallway, a knowing smile on his lips that made my cheeks burn

Am I intruding?he asked, his tone entirely too innocent

No, I wasn’t doing anything,I replied quickly, stepping back to let him in

Oh, okay,he said, though his expression suggested he didn’t believe me for a second

The realization hit mehad he heard? Gods, had I called out in my sleep? Frost, it was a dream,I blurted out

A quite enjoyable dream you were having there. The amusement in his voice confirmed my worst fears

You hearddidn’t you?I covered my face with my hands, wishing the floor would open and swallow me whole

Do you mean the names you kept on calling out?His grin widened. It was pretty loud.”

Kill me now,I groaned

Hey, it’s okay, don’t be embarrassed,he said, though his eyes still danced with mischief

If you dare tell him, I would literally murder you. The thought of Kaius knowing about the dream was unbearable

Your secrets are safe with me, but there is a condition.”

I looked up suspiciously. What condition?”

You tell me what exactly you were dreaming about,His eyebrow raised suggestively

Not happening.I crossed my arms, trying to appear stern despite my lingering embarrassment

He laughed, relenting. There is a letter for you,he said, producing an envelope from his pocket

Who is it from?I asked, reaching for it eagerly

Your mother,he replied, handing it over

I turned the envelope in my hands, noticing the broken seal. It’s opened.”

We had to make sure it’s source, but it hadn’t been read,he assured me

I unfolded the letter, a wave of homesickness washing over me as I recognized my mother’s handwriting

My dearest Elowen

I write with a heavy heart, not knowing if this will reach you or if you are even alive. Kieran returned with news of your capture, and I fear the worst. The Pack has been in mourning since, though Kieran assures us he will find a way to bring you home

I blame myself for allowing you to go on such a dangerous mission. If I had known the risks, I would have locked you in your room myself rather than let you face them. Please, if you receive this, send word that you are safe

Gabriel speaks of mounting a rescue, but Kieran counsels patience. There is much I don’t understand about what has happened, but I trust you will find your way back to us

All my love

Mother

Guilt twisted through me as I imagined her worry, her fear. And beneath that, a deeper realizationKieran had returned to Storm Wardens without me, leaving my mother to believe I might be dead. Yet here I was, eating dinner with Kaius, questioning everything I’d once been certain of

I needed to write back, to assure her I was alive and well. But what else could I say? That I had discovered new truths about the attacks? That I still loved the man who had broken my heart? That my body was changing in ways I didn’t understand

A sudden wave of nausea interrupted my thoughts. I doubled over, a searing pain ripping through my abdomen

Are you okay?Frost asked, alarm replacing his teasing manner

Yes. Yes, I am,I managed, but another spasm of pain hit, driving me to my knees. Something was terribly wronga burning sensation spreading from my core to my limbs, as if my blood had turned to fire

I stumbled to the bathroom, barely making it to the toilet before violent retching overtook me. But what came up wasn’t the dinner I’d shared with Kaiusit was blood, dark and thick, with strange silver flecks that caught the light

Chapter 200

Frost hovered in the doorway, his expression horrified. I’ll get a healer,he said, turning to leave

No!I gasped, wiping my mouth with the back of my hand. I’m fine. It’sit’s normal.”

But it wasn’t normal, and we both knew it. Something was happening to my body, something related to my transformation into

Turned One, to Kieran’s blood that had revitalized me

As another wave of pain washed over me, I clutched the edge of the sink, staring at my reflection in the mirror. For a moment, my

eyes seemed to flash silver, like the flecks in the blood I’d vomited

What was I becoming
