Chapter 23
“They’re your blood! You’ll burn for this!” Ella screamed, but her words fell on deaf ears.
A team of white–coated doctors forcibly dragged her away.
To public, Alston claimed Ella had “cancer” and needed immediate chemotherapy.
In reality, she had no cancer at all.
For actual cancer patients, chemo targets malignant cells but destroys healthy ones in the process. Cancer patients weaken during treatment. Their hair falls out. Their bodies deteriorate.
Now Ella, with no cancer at all, was forced through the same torture.
Every side effect hit her full force. Her hair came out in handfuls. Her once–thick mane thinned to wisps. Her skin aged rapidly, developing spots and lines…
In just weeks, Ella looked a decade and a half older.
But Alston wasn’t finished. He also ordered surgeons to remove Alani’s uterus from Ella’s body.
After losing her uterus and undergoing constant chemotherapy, Ella really became as frail as a late–stage cancer patient.
As for Ella’s twins, they were shipped off to distant Wilson relatives, just as Alston had threatened.
Despite not being in the main family line, the Wilsons were wealthy enough that the children should have been well cared for.
But gossip travels fast. Most family members had figured out these kids were Alston’s bastards with Ella.
And they caused Alani to file for divorce.
Everyone in the Wilson household understood one crucial fact: Alani was Alston’s life. Cross Alston, you might survive by begging Alani for mercy. Cross Alani, and you were done.
Servants in wealthy families are experts at knowing who to please and who to mistreat.

Chapter 23
Since these children’s mother had hurt the highest–ranking person, the staff naturally wouldn’t treat
them well.
Those twins were in for a rough childhood.
But Alston couldn’t care less. His mind was locked on one goal: getting back to Paris to win Alani
back!
“Just ten minutes. That’s all I’m asking,” Alston begged after rushing back to Paris. He dropped to his
knees in front of Alani.
“I’ve cut all ties with Ella. The kids are gone too. You’ll never see any of them again, I swear. From now on, my heart and my body belong only to you. And all my assets—I’ll transfer everything into
your name.”
“I screwed up. I know that. Just one more chance. I won’t blow it this time. If I ever mess up again, I won’t have any complaints even if you kill me yourself.”
