Nana turns, yawning and stretching. She feels Lana’s energy, faint but present, flickering weakly in her chest. It’s there, alive, and it’s enough to let her breathe for the first time in what feels like forever. This is the best sleep she’s had in years, but her peace shatters the moment she feels a presence looming over her.
Her eyes fly open, her body tense and alert. She’s met with a face that steals her breath.
A long, dark mane of messy hair cascades over a sharp jawline and high cheekbones, framing the most striking face she’s ever seen. His hair falls softly, brushing against her cheek, and she’s momentarily frozen.
Her heart thunders in her chest, and her eyes drift lower, taking in the sturdy, well–framed body in front of her. Every muscle looks carved, and his chest rises and falls evenly.
“I’ve seen Marco naked so many damn times, but this… this is the most beautiful body I’ve ever fucking seen,” she blurts before she can stop herself.
The man smirks. “You shouldn’t be thinking about another man when I’m right in front of you, mate.”
The words snap her back to reality like a slap to the face.
“W–what?” she stammers, her voice shaking as realization hits her like a truck. “What the…? I’m still here? Shit! It’s fucking morning already! What the hell am I gonna do if Marco–or the maids or even Fetisha start looking for me?”
Her hands clutch her head as she panics, her voice rising. Without thinking, she shoves him back, her heart hammering in her chest.
Lowell doesn’t resist. He stands there, naked as the day he was born, just watching her with calm, steady eyes.
Her eyes snap down to his body again, and she can’t help but curse under her breath. “Why the fuck are you naked? And why the hell were you above me
like that?”
His lips twitch, almost like he’s amused. “Did you think I’d shift into my human form clothed? After twenty–five fucking years?”
She groans, her hand flying to her forehead. “We need to get you something to wear,” she mutters, already feeling the weight of the situation pressing
down on her.
Her mind spins. “How the hell am I supposed to sneak him back to the pack house? It’s broad daylight, and the patrols will be on high alert. Marco’s probably already looking for me–and if he sees me coming…” her words fades.
Lowell doesn’t say anything at first, his dark eyes tracking her every move. The intensity of his gaze makes her feel exposed, like he’s peeling back every layer of her defenses.
“What’s your name?” he asks suddenly, his voice softer now, but still commanding.
“Nana,” she says, her heart pounding as his presence inches closer to her.
Lowell nods, taking in her name like it’s something precious. “Nana…” he repeats, his voice a low rumble.
Her skin tingles at the way he says it, and she takes a step back, putting some distance between them. Lana stirs within her, reacting strongly to his presence. Even in her weakened state, Lana’s desire is unmistakable, and it sets Nana on edge.
“My prince,” she says, her voice trembling slightly, “we have more important things to sort out.”
She blushes, the heat in her cheeks betraying her calm tone. Lowell doesn’t miss it–his sharp eyes see everything.
His hand moves, brushing gently against her dark hair, and her breath catches. When his fingers cup her face, a shiver runs through her body. She can feel the strength of his lycan, radiating warmth and raw power, and it makes her knees weak.
“Your prince, huh?” he murmurs, his thumb brushing lightly against her cheek. “I like the sound of that,”

Chapter 14
Nana swallows hard, her thoughts scrambling. She should pull away–should be focusing on how to get him out of here safely–but his touch keeps her rooted in place.
“Stop,” she whispers, her voice shaky. “We don’t have time for this.”
Lowell tilts his head, studying her. “For what?” he asks, a faint smirk playing on his lips.
“For this,” she snaps, gesturing between them. “We’re wasting time, and Marco is probably already looking for me.”
Lowell’s expression darkens at the mention of Marco. “Let him come,” he says, his voice steady and resolute. “He can’t hurt me.”
“You don’t get it,” Nana fires back, her voice rising. “Marco will fucking kill you. He’s not going to let you walk away, he’s been looking for you.”
Lowell steps closer, his presence overwhelming. “I’ve faced worse,” he says simply. “And I’m still here.”
“That’s not the point!” Nana exclaims, throwing her hands up in frustration. “I can’t let anything happen to you. Do you understand that?”
Lowell’s gaze softens, and he reaches for her hand, his touch gentle despite his strength. “You’re not responsible for me,” he says firmly. “I chose to protect you. I’ll always choose to protect you.”
Her throat tightens at his words, and guilt twists in her stomach. She shakes her head, stepping away from him again. “It is my fault,” she whispers. “Everything you’ve been through–it’s because of me, should’ve…”
“Stop,” Lowell says, cutting her off. His voice is calm but unyielding. “None of this is on you. And I’d do it all again in a heartbeat.”
Nana feels her chest tighten. His words are too much, and she doesn’t know how to process thent. “You’re insane,” she mutters, rubbing her temples.
“Maybe,” he replies with a shrug. “But I’m your mate. That’s all that
She glares at him, her frustration bubbling over. “You’re making this harder than it needs to be,” she grits out. “We need to figure out how to get you out of here without getting killed. That’s the priority right now.”
Lowell nods, his expression serious again. “Whatever you decide, I’ll follow your lead.”
“Good,” she says, her tone clipped. “But you have to listen to me. No stupid risks, no trying to play the hero. Got it?”
“Got it,” he agrees with a faint smile.
She exhales sharply, trying to calm her racing thoughts. “First things first,” she mutters. “We need to get you some goddamn clothes. I can’t think straight with you standing there like… like “that“.”
Lowell chuckles, the sound deep and rich. “I’m not in a rush,” he says, his tone teasing.
“Well, I fucking am,” Nana snaps, her cheeks flushing again. “I’ll get going while you stay here, it seems safer for you. I’ll come back with something to wear”
Lowell watches her for a moment longer, his gaze warm and unwavering.
