Please, Marco, I don’t-Nana stammers, her voice shaky. Fear tightens around her chest, her body trembling with the memories of past punishments

Marco’s sharp gaze flicks over to her, cutting off her words. What the hell is that smell?he suddenly blurts out, wrinkling his nose in disgust

Nana freezes, her mind racing. The mark? No, it can’t be that. He hasn’t seen it yet. But the smell? What is he talking about

II don’t know what you mean, she stutters, panic rising. I took a shower before coming hereI always do.She tries to defend herself, her voice barely a whisper

Marco steps off the bed, his face contorting with irritation. Without losing any time, he marches towards his drawer and pulls out a cologne. Out of nowhere, he sprays it all over in the air around them, as he moves his hand before his nose as if he is trying to make some bad odor away from him

Nana stares, confused, feeling her heart racing. Is it really that bad?she asks, her tone low and painful. She sniffs herself, confused. She smells normal -at least to her weak senses. There’s no way she can catch what an Alpha can. But MarcoMarco acts like she reeks of something unbearable

He turns to her, his face filled with disgust. You’re telling me you can’t smell that?he snaps, spraying the cologne again, but this time he points it in her direction. What did you roll around in before coming here?”

I don’t smell anything.” she mutters, her eyes downcast. Why is he treating her like this? As if she’s nothing but trash

Marco glares at her. It’s like something’s rotting on you. Like you’ve beenHe pauses, his eyes narrowing. You smell like you’ve been claimed.”

Nana’s breath catches in her throat. Claimed? NoHe can’t know. Not yet

I swear, I’m not-she starts, but Marco cuts her off, his frustration boiling over

Get the hell away from me!he shouts, waving his hand as if to swat her away. You smell pungent!”

Nana winces and bites her lip to contain her tears. She is frantically trying to find a way out of this. She has properly covered the mark, hasn’t she? He couldn’t possibly have seen it. How long, though, can she maintain this facade

II don’t know what you’re talking about,”

e manages to

say, her voice breaking

Nana steps down from the bed, cautiously walking past him, trying to stay calm. As she moves, Marco suddenly gags, covering his mouth

What the fuck!he groans, sprinting toward the bow. The sound of him retching echoes in the small room, leaving Nana standing there, stunned

She glances toward the bathroom door, her heart pounding in her chest

Did I really smell that bad to him?Her stomach twists with anxiety as she tries to process what just happened. She presses a hand to her neck, where the lycan prince’s mark is hidden

What will I do if he finds out?She thinks

Nana leaves Marco’s room, feeling a wave of relief wash over her. Marco hasn’t noticed the mark, but the tension still lingers. He said she smells like she’s claimed, and that word echoes in her mind. What exactly does he mean by that? She doesn’t smell anything different about herself, but her confusion grows

As she climbs into bed, wrapping herself tightly in the blanket, Felisha, her nanny, is tidying up the small room. Nana’s thoughts swirl around Marco’s strange reaction. She can’t shake the unease gnawing at her

Felisha, do I smell different today? Like, an unpleasant smell?she asks hesitantly, needing some sort of confirmation about what just happened

Felisha looks up from folding some clothes/a gentle smile on her face. My dear, you’ve always had such a pleasant, natural scent. I even secretly put a nice fragrance in your bathroom. You smell just fine, there’s no way you smell unpleasant, she reassures Nana, her voice filled with warmth and sincerity

Nana nods, biting her lip. She trusts Felisha, but what Marco said still bothers her. She needs to dig deeper. Why would females smellclaimed? Like, what makes that happen?”

Felisha pauses, straightening up, and studies Nana for a moment. Her expression softens before she answers, Well, Ruby, only someone with the Alpha’s bloodspecifically a Lycancan bathe his mate in his scent. It’s a way to mark her, to let others know she belongs to someone. A physical demonstration of ownership, so to speak. It keeps other males away.”

Nana’s heart pounds wildly in her chest. Her worst fear is confirmed, but she forces herself to stay calm, trying to appear nonchalant. OhI see,she murmurs, but inside she’s spiraling. The lycan prince. He marked her, and now she reeks of him to anyone with a strong enough sense of smell. It isn’t just a small problem; it’s a disaster waiting to unfold

Felisha frowns slightly, sensing Nana’s unease. Why do you ask, dear? Is something bothering you?She steps closer, her motherly concern evident

Nana quickly shakes her head, putting on a weak smile. Oh, nothing. I just overheard some of the maids whispering earlier about it. I got curious, that’s all,she lies, trying her best to sound casual. But her heart is thudding so loudly in her chest she wonders if Felisha can hear it

Felisha chuckles lightly, brushing it off. Well, there’s no need to worry about such things. The maids love to gossip. It’s late; you should get some rest.”

Nana nods again, forcing a smile. Yeah, you’re right. I’ll sleep now. Thank you, Felisha.”

Felisha finishes packing up, giving her one last fond look before heading toward the door. Goodnight, dear. Sleep well, she says gently, closing the door softly behind her as she leaves

As soon as Felisha is gone, Nana lets out a shaky breath, her smile fading as the panic sets in again. If what Felisha said is true, then the lycan prince has

left his scent on her when he marked her. It’s only a matter of time before Marco figures it out. There’s no hiding the scent forever

Her hand instinctively goes to the spot on her neck where the mark lies hidden under her scarf. She can feel the warmth of it constantly reminding her the kind of mess she’s in. How long can she keep this from Marco? Will he kill her when he finds out

What am I going to do? Nana thinks, dread settling deep in her bones. Every moment that passes feels like she’s one step closer to disaster. How bad has

the situation already gotten? She’s running out of time
