Chapter 8
“Alpha, we have a problem, Stephen says, bursting into Marco’s room, the urgency in his voice obvious.
Marco looks up sharply, wendemis why Stephen is a worked up, breathing like he’s been running.
“What kind of profitenge the gates to tenes, already imitated. “This better be worth interrupting me for, Stephen.”
There was track of feptice in the area last night,” Stephen blurts out, barely catching his breath: He watches Marco carefully, knowing the weight
of the words
Marcare apes senden dhe epithes up from his seat. “What the hell? Where?” he says, voice sharp and demanding. “Is anyone hurt?”
Stepti forsats, cheanty picking his words carefully. “No injuries… at least none we’ve heard about yet.” He shifts his weight, and the room feels tighter
prewing impatient. “What do you mean, ‘none that we’ve heard about yet‘? Either someone’s hurt, or they’re not.” He folds his arms,
it’s een stammers, scratching the back of his head. “We’re talking about a Lycan prince here–a blood–hungry one, freshly escaped. His
He to hunt, regain his strength. Isn’t it strange? He leaves a trace, but there’s no attack, no wounded, no… chaos.”
#eren prothes his jew, eyes narrowing. “So, you’re saying he could’ve just… wandered through? No harm, no confrontation?” He shakes his head,
“That doesn’t sound like Lowell.”
bigen meds thoughtfully. “I thought so too. It’s just… unusual. If he really came through, wouldn’t we have seen more damage?”
Tell me where did you find his trace?” Marco’s voice is sharp.
The main pate, Alpha. Right near the main building,” Stephen replies, voice low.
#er’s expression changes instantly. “The main building? My building?” He lets out a heavy breath and sinks back into his chair, fingers tapping against the armrest. “Is he coming for me? Because the only reason he’d be at the main building is if I am his target.”
Stephen raises his hands slightly, “Maybe… but maybe not.” He speaks carefully, not wanting to fuel Marco’s anger. “Alpha, he’s been locked up for 25 years. He was only a boy back then–just an underfed kid left to rot in isolation. Who knows what state he’s in now, what he remembers, what instincts
have taken over?”
Marco sneers “instincts? I’m supposed to believe he’s just acting on instinct?”
Stephen nods, his expression serious. “It’s possible, Alpha. Lycan instincts are brutal enough on their own. A creature like him, abandoned and kept in isolation… The first thing he’ll be doing is hunting. Not necessarily aiming for anyone specific, just… reclaiming his nature.”
Marco clenches his fists, his voice low. “But he’s not just any Lycan. He’s the prince, the heir–he knows that. Or did he forget, too?”
“He might have” Stephen says slowly. “Twenty–five years in captivity is a long time, Alpha, Even the strongest memories fade under those conditions. He could just be hunting Trying to get his strength back”
Marco laughs bitterly, but there’s no humor in it, “So he’s lost his mind, then? Great. that’s even worse.” He stands up, pacing the room, his steps quick and heavy.

“Yes, Alpha” Stephen replies, voice firm. Take sure every suit and entry point is covered.”

Stephen nods, knowing better than to argue. “Understood, Alpha.” He pauses. “We’ll do everything to ensure the pack’s safety.”
“Damn right we will,” Marco growls. He turns away, expression dark, letting out a slow, tense breath as Stephen leaves the room.
Honestly, he is scared of Lowell, and he admits that fearsome beast is too strong for him. But in his position, he has the upper hand.

Lowell groans in pain, his entire body throbbing as he claws desperately at his own side. The silver bullet lodged in his ribs burns like fire, weakening him more with every passing minute.
He digs his claws deeper, feeling the rough metal, but it won’t budge. His muscles strain and tremble, but it’s no use; it’s stuck. Exhausted, he collapses back, his body too drained to fight.
The pain isn’t just physical–it’s deeper, gnawing at him. He knows there’s something vital he’s forgetting.
Last night, he felt a surge of something, an intense pull that drove him out of his hiding place, and he ended up far too close to the pack’s main territory. Not an ideal place for him, especially in this weakened state. But he couldn’t resist the urge; something within him demanded he go.
Lowell attempts to shift back into his human form, but only his head transforms. The rest of his body remains trapped in his Lycan state, bulky and monstrous. Frustration builds in him as he struggles to remember, to make sense of the scattered pieces in his mind.
His mate there’s something about his mate. His senses tell him she’s close to that man, the Alpha who looked so familiar. But who is he? Why does he seem like someone he should recognize?
A faint memory flickers, and his head throbs harder, like his mind is fighting to hold onto it. The man, the Alpha… he resembles his uncle, Fernando. But that can’t be right, can it? His memories are hazy, tangled, and faded after all the years in captivity. It’s like trying to grasp smoke; the more he reaches, the more it slips away. His head aches as he tries to piece it together.
Lowell’s heart clenches when he recalls why he ventured near the pack last night. It wasn’t just a whim; he’d sensed his mate’s fear, her heartbeat erratic, like she was in danger.
The thought of her in trouble had stirred something primal inside him, something he couldn’t ignore, and he’d followed the pull without hesitation, his instincts overpowering any logical thought. But now, in his weakened state, he can’t do anything but growl, frustration and helplessness blending into a single, agonizing emotion.
His gaze shifts to the forest surrounding him, shadows lengthening as dawn approaches. He longs to reach his mate, to protect her. Yet here he is, broken and stuck, his strength sapped by the cursed bullet in his side.
