Chapter 115: Ruined A Great Friendship.
“I love you”
The three words echoed in Ivy’s head when she woke up. She stirred and slowly removed Silas’s hand on her waist. She
and paused, hoping she hadn’t woken him up, but when Silas didn’t move, she got out of the bed
*I love you”
The words clung in her head, stirring emotions she couldn’t dare to face. She want to believe them, to enjoy them, but she knew they were words said in the moment of passion.
Yet, she couldn’t stop thinking about it.
Ivy moved to the bathroom, took a quick shower, went to her closet and put on a casual black gown.
She had allowed Silas to touch her again. Despite her anger, she had given in to the pleasure. She wanted to be mad at herself, but she knew she would be lying. She had enjoyed every bit of it.
Ivy made her way to the dining room and was surprised to see Rosie and Kim there. They were laughing and murmuring, but they stopped immediately when she entered.
“Ivy,” Kim said flatly.
“Kim,” Ivy replied flatly too. “How are you feeling now?”
“And how is that your business?” Rosie chimed in before Kim could respond.
Ivy saw the challenge in Rosie’s eyes, and it scared her, but she couldn’t let her know that. Instead she stepped forward, keeping her head high.
“Why wouldn’t it be my business?” she shot back.
Rosie smirked. “Because she’s Silas’s guest, not yours.”
“My husband’s guest is also mine,” Ivy countered.
Kim gasped, and Rosie jumped to her feet. “You think you’re all smug, right? Just wait until Silas and Kim get back together, then you’ll see what a fake wife you really are.”
Kim laughed at Rosie’s jab, and it pierced Ivy even more, but she couldn’t let them see how much it hurt. She racked her head for something that could cut deep too.
“Until then,” Ivy said, keeping her voice steady. “But for now, since I am still Silas’s wife, I suggest you stay in your husband‘ s house and stop roaming in mine.”
Rosie’s eyes widened with shock. “Me?”
“Yes.” Ivy delivered more confidently. “Either you stay in your husband’s house, or you take your friend with you so you two can gossip all day elsewhere.”
“What?!” Kim yelled. “You don’t have the-”
“Oh, but I do, Kim,” Ivy interrupted with a scowl. “I can make decisions in this house, and I just did. You either stay here, or you leave with your friend. Your choice.”
With surprise all over their faces, Ivy stepped out of the dining room, excitement racing in her heart. Completely forgetting about food, she made her way back to her room.
“What’s making you laugh?”
She turned at the sound of Silas’s sleepy voice and heat crept up on her face. He was naked, sitting upright on her bed, his cock fully erect.
Ivy swallowed as her eyes lingered on the sight.
Silas chuckled. “It’s just morning wood. It happens all the time.”
She nodded at his explanation, yet her eyes kept drifting back to it.
“Do you want it?” Silas teased
“No!” Her response was quick, yet heat burned between her legs.
“Yeah, right.”
She ignored his tease and went to the closet to

changed into a black suit and got ready for work.
Silas was still on the bed, but he had thankfully covered up. He tilted his head when she entered.
“All set for work?”
“Yes,” Ivy replied without looking at him. “I told you I have a busy day today”
“Yes, you did,” Silas said, getting out of the bed.
The cover fell, revealing his dick again, and Ivy quickly turned away, not wanting to be drawn in again.
“Cover up, please.”
He chuckled. “Since when do I cover up when I’m with my wife?”
Her heart tugged at the possessiveness in his tone, and for a moment, she allowed herself to enjoy it. After all, she had told Kim and Rosie that she was his wife. But when those three words echoed in her head again, she pushed them aside, locking her emotions away once and for all.
“Don’t go just yet,” Silas said. “I want to go with you, please.”
She nodded, realizing she had no defenses over that usual compelling tone. Her phone rang, pulling her out of it. She reached for it just as Silas entered the bathroom.
Something fluttered inside her as she remembered how he had barged in yesterday. She had been shocked, weakened, and kept repeating the same phrase like a broken clock.
Shaking her head, she brought the phone to her ear.
“Hello.”
“Hey, Ivy,” Theresa said, her voice soft.
Ivy straightened up as she remembered yesterday’s events. Still, she answered Theresa calmly. “How are you doing?”
“Good,” Theresa replied and then she paused. “Ivy… about yesterday… how did you find out?”
Ivy paced to the window, trying to steady her breath. “I can’t believe that’s the question you’ll ask me, Theresa.”
“I know. I’m sorry,” Theresa breathed. “Can we meet somewhere later today? I promise to tell you everything. Just don’t…. tell Silas.”
How could she? Where would she even begin the conversation from?
She wanted to be angry at Theresa, but something inside her refused to harden up.
“Okay,” she finally replied. “I will text you an address later.”
“Alright thanks,” Theresa said softly and ended the call.
Ivy dropped her phone, just as Silas stepped out of the bathroom.
“Who was that?” He asked.
She turned to him, realized just how nosy he was becoming. “Theresa,” she said. “We’re seeing today.”
“If you weren’t married to me, I know Wills would think Theresa is cheating on him,” Silas said casually, dabbing his body with a towel.
“Yes.” Ivy laughed, but it was dry laughter that squeezed her chest.
How awful would it be when he found out that Theresa was actually cheating?
Silas seemed to have noticed her laugh. “Are you okay? You sounded weird.”
“I’m good,” she said, looking away. “Go get dressed, let’s go.”
Silas bent over and dragged out his suitcase from under the bed. Ivy’s eyes widened. “When did you bring that here?
“Last night,” he said smoothly.
Silas had brought his stuff inside like he was certain he was going to sleep in her bed. She didn’t know if to be offended or impressed.
“Ok,” she said flatly and left the room for him.
When she got downstairs, she saw Rosie coming from the hallway. Rosie approached her, eyes shining with malice
“You win, I’ll stay in my house,” she said, anger filling her tone. “I do hope you sleep well, now that you’ve ruined a great friendship.”
Without waiting for Ivy’s response, Rosie stormed out of the house.
Guilt surged through Ivy as she watched Rosie, but before she could process it fully, Silas “Wasn’t that Rosie?” He asked, adjusting his sleeves.
came downstairs.

“What is she so pissed about?”
Ivy shrugged, the lie spilling out. “I don’t know”
Silas hummed and adjusted his tie “Let’s go, shall we?”
“A minute, please,” she replied and went to her room to pick her bag with her laptop and phone inside
When she came back downstairs, she took Silas’s hand, and they walked out together. Outside, Bud was waiting for them
“Good morning sir. Ma’am,” Bud greeted.
“Good morning, Bud,” Silas said. “You’ll be taking us to my wife’s new company”
Ivy’s heart swelled at the pride in Silas’s tone. Merged with the realization that she was now a company owner, her emotions soarred.
She entered the car with Silas by her side and the journey began. They discussed the business and the interview questions on the way.
But as they turned into her premise, Bud gasped. “What the fuck!”
Ivy’s stomach knotted with discomfort as she looked out the window. Her heart stopped, with disbelief washing over her
Her building had been vandalized with ugly graffiti! All her beautiful windows had been smashed to pieces!
Who would have done this? And why?
