Vim scoffed, folding her arms proudly “You have no right to send me away” she said, then her eyes went to Silas as if tooking for his support.
Sites looked away, stepping further away from Kim. I already told you that, he whispered.
He had come in to deliver the news, only for Kim to seduce him.
Kim’s smirk disappeared and confusion spread on her face. “What?…. where am I supposed to go?”
Ivy stepped forward, “Ask your friend, Rosie, she said then turned to Silas. “We have to go, Theresa fainted.”
Shock raced through Silas “What? When?”
“Not long. Victor called me,” Ivy said, all the anger in her eyes turning to worry.
Without looking at Kim, Silas dashed out of the room even as Kim kept calling him. Outside the house, he signalled to the other bodyguard, Stud. “Get the Rolls Royce. Quick.”
Stud obeyed and in no time, they headed to the hospital Ivy had told them. When they got stuck in traffic, Silas turned to Ivy. “Hey, I’m sorry about… that.”
“It’s okay, Ivy replied softly, but she didn’t look at him.
He looked away, his stomach churning. If only he hadn’t let Kim stay in his house in the first place, he wouldn’t have to deal with this.
“We’re here,” Ivy said, pulling him from his thoughts.
Quickly they both got out of the car and headed inside. At the reception, Ivy spoke to a nurse. “Hello, we are here to see Theresa Stone, she was rushed in some moments ago.”
The nurse pressed her computer, then smiled at them. “Just go down the hall, the first room on the left.”
“Thanks, Silas said. Together with Ivy, he followed the nurse’s direction.
“This is it,” Ivy said when they found the room and entered.
Silas paused when he saw Hector sitting on the chair beside Theresa’s bed, holding her hand while she sat upright.
Ivy didn’t seem to find the position weird, she just went over and hugged Theresa. “Hey love. How are you doing?”
“Better now. It was just a shock,” Theresa replied.
Silas ignored their conversation, his eyes narrowed on Hector, who shifted uncomfortably in his chair.
“Mr. Stone,” Hector greeted with a sheepish, unsteady smile.
Silas wanted to question him, instead he turned to Theresa. “How are you feeling now?”
Theresa looked at Hector before answering. “Better. I will be discharged tomorrow.”
Silas hugged her, giving her a kiss on the forehead. “I’m sorry about-”
“I don’t want to talk about it,” Theresa interrupted with a tight smile. “Please.”
Silas nodded. “I understand.”
They all fell into an awkward silence before Theresa cleared her throat. “How did it go? With the vandalism?”
“We found the guys,” Ivy said with her forehead creased. “I think my ex–husband is behind it.”
Silas turned to her, blinking. “How is that possible? You told me their description didn’t match Mason.”
“Yes, that was before he called me and confessed.” Ivy’s frown deepened. “I don’t know how he did it, either by dissguise sending someone, but I’m pressing charges. I ren of

Ivy stepped forward. “But Theresa-”
“No, Ivy.” Theresa interrupted her. “I need all the distractions I can get.”
Ivy nodded and Silas watched as both women exchanged a look.
“No problem then,” Ivy smiled.
“In that case, I’ll see you guys tomorrow.” Theresa said.
She was dismissing them, Silas thought. For whatever reason, he really hoped it wasn’t because of Hector
Ivy didn’t seem to have a problem with that again. “No problem. I’ll call you.”
They hugged while Silas kept expecting Hector to stand up and leave as well, afterall he was there first, he should leave first.
“Thanks for coming, Si.” Theresa told him.
He nodded. “You’re welcome.”
“Bye love, bye Hector,” Ivy said, turning to the door.
“Bye,” Silas smiled and followed Ivy. Once they were in the hallway, he nudged her slightly. “What’s going on with Theresa and Hector?”
“It’s not my place to say,” Ivy said without stopping.
So there was something?
“What are you trying to say?” he pressed, but Ivy just shrugged as they made their way to the car.
The ride home was silent, and when they arrived, Ivy quickly got out of the car.
Silas followed her, his heart pounding from their lack of conversation. He wanted her to talk about the Kim incident so he could at least explain, and even talk about everything that had happened today.
“Ivy,” he called as she climbed the stairs but she didn’t stop. “Ivy?”
She turned to him, her eyes hiding all her emotions. “It has been such a long day. Let’s talk tomorrow.”
“Yes I know-”
“Good night, Silas,” she said and dashed upstairs.
Few seconds later, he heard her door shut. “Guest room it is,” he said out loud and trudged to the room.
The next morning, after tossing and turning all night, Silas got ready for the day. He missed Ivy all night, so he went straight to her room. He was about to climb the stairs when a maid greeted him.
“Good morning sir, Lady Kim said I should tell you she’s left already,” the maid said.
He groaned at the title Kim had given herself, but turned to the maid with a smile. “Thank you.”
The maid nodded and left. He proceeded to Ivy’s room and knocked softly. “Ivy?”
He waited, hoping to hear anything but there was nothing, so he knocked again. After waiting for more than five minutes, Silas finally left her door and went to work.
Immediately he got to his office, his phone rang and he reached for it without looking at the screen.
“Hello.”
“Hi, Si.” Thomas’s voice filled his ear.
“Hey, bro. How are you?”
“Good. I called you yesterday but you didn’t pick up. What happened?” Thomas asked, concern filling his tone.
Silas sighed as he unbuttoned his suit and sat at his desk. “It’s Wills and Theresa.” Then he told Thomas everything, including how Theresa fainted.
“That’s crazy,” Thomas said angrily. “How dare Wills. He should be lucky I got busy.”
Curiosity raced inside Silas and he asked. “What were you up to?”
“Well,” Thomas’s tone changed. “Wade heard that Patricia wants to settle outside of court.”
Silas straightened up. “Oh.”
“It’s not official,” Thomas quickly added. “But if it happens, my case can be over immediately.”
“I’m so happy for you bro, that’s so relieving.”
“I know,” Thomas chuckled. “I haven’t slept in days.”
“I know, sorry brother,” Silas said softly. “We should-”
He paused as his door opened and Kim, with a cast on her leg, limped inside.

“You can’t go in!” Mrs Harris snapped, trying to block Kim.
“Get out of my way!” Kim clapped back, nudging Mrs Harris with her elbow.
Silas rolled his eyes as he spoke on the phone. “I’ll call you back, bro,” he said and ended the call. Then he faced the women, his voice harsh. “What’s going on here?”
“She just barged in, sir,” Mrs Harris said.
“I have to see you, Silas,” Kim argued.
Silas stood up, his jaw tightened. He wasn’t going to let her get close to him agairt. “You have to leave!”
“But Si,” Kim protested, “I can’t-”
“Out before I have you thrown out!” Silas snapped pointing to the door.
Kim’s eyes widenedd and before she could say anything, Mrs Harris pulled her out of the room.
Silas hissed as he settled back in his chair. As he was about to start his day, he heard a loud scream. He ran to the window, and watched as people gathered round.
“She’s down!” Somebody screamed.
Curious, Silas left his office but met Mrs Harris outside. “What happened?”
Mrs Harris shook her head, her eyes widened. “Kim had been hit by a runaway driver, sir.”
