Chapter 129: Theresa and Wills.
The shoot took over three hours before it was finally over. Ivy started with Sonia, then Catherine, followed by Aria, and finally Theresa
By the time she was done, exhaustion nagged at her bones. But she couldn’t complain, instead she felt complete, fulfilled.
Ivy had missed being behind the camera, and it was so good to be back at it. When she got to her office, she slumped into
her chair.
“Damn,” she exclaimed as her eyes fell to the plate and cup of coffee on her table.
As she reached for the coffee, her hand shook from the exhaustion after clicking and angling cameras. But one sip of the coffee, and she spat it out.
It was cold, and it irritated her.
She leaned into her chair, wondering what her next move would be when her intercom rang.
“Hello,” she answered.
“Hi ma’am.” Her receptionist’s voice sounded on the other side. “The event planners are here to see you.”
Ivy groaned, rubbing her nose gently. “Send them in,” she said, her voice almost pale.
Some moments later, there was a knock on the door.
“Come in,” she said and the door opened revealing two women.
“Hello Ms Stone,” the woman in red stepped forward, stretching a hand. “I am Lindsey, and this is my partner Joanna.”
Ivy stood up, receiving Lindsey’s hand. “Nice to meet you, please have your seat,” she said, gesturing to the seats opposite
hers.
“Your husband told us you’re planning on throwing a party,” Lindsey said.
“Congratulations by the way,” Joanna chimed in.
“Thank you,” Ivy smiled, her exhaustion melting just a little. “And yes, we are throwing a party.”
“Good,” Lindsey said, while Joanna brought out a laptop from the bag she carried. “We wanted to know if you have a theme for the party.”
“Like a decoration idea,” Joanna added.
“Well, nothing really. I want something lovely. The party should be about women and their strength.”
“Ah beautiful,” Lindsey said while Joanna typed.
“Yes,” Joanna said. “We could use a movie theme. You can tell us your favorite movie and we can try and reincarnate it. We can also…”
But Ivy zoned out on the conversation, her head throbbing from hunger and exhaustion. She just wanted to eat, and get out of these clothes.
“So which would it be, Ms Stone?” Lindsey asked, snapping Ivy’s out of her thoughts.
“Hmmm… anything you guys say,” Ivy replied, trying to keep the lie from showing on her face.
She watched as their faces lit up with confusion and she quickly added, “You’re the experts, and my husband seemed to trust your opinions, and I trust my husband.” She added a sheepish smile.
The trick seemed to work as both women nodded, beaming from ear to ear.
“Well, we are honoured,” Joanna said brightly.
“And we won’t let you down,” Lindsey added, her smile equally bright.
Ivy nodded. “I’m sure.”
Both women stood to their feet. Joanna packed her laptop while Lindsey’s smile broadened.
“Congratulations once again, ma’am.”
“We’ll get back to you soon,” Joanna said.
“Thank you for your time.” Ivy shook their hands, a polite smile curved on her face as she saw them out. “Bye.” She waved. Once she closed the door, she went back to her chair. The door opened again without a knock, and Theresa walked in with a white paper bag.
“What did you say to those women? They were laughing so hard,” she said, taking her seat.
Ivy threw her head back. “I got carried away by the conversation so I just blurted out whatever.”

Theresa laughed
“Don’t blame me, I am hungry and tired”
“Here, for you,” Theresa said, pushing the paper bag towards her “I figured you might be hungry
“Aww, T. You’re the best,” Ivy said, already reaching for the food. “Has Ana left already
“Yes. I saw her off,” Theresa said with a nod
It was a plate of rice and steak and Ivy finished it in no time. She downed the food with a cold bottle of water. “Thank you, T,” she said and then belched “Excuse me”
“You’re welcome.”
“Give me five minutes, then we’ll leave for your attorney’s office.”
Five minutes later, Ivy stood up, feeling a lot better and with Theresa driving, they went to the attorney’s office.
The building was just ten minutes away and as Theresa parked into the premise, Ivy saw her hand tighten against the steering wheel.
“You’ve got this,” Ivy said, patting her shoulder.
“Yes, yes,” Theresa replied with an unsteady smile and it made Ivy’s stomach turn.
They got out of the car and made their way straight to a hallway that led to many rooms. Ivy followed behind Theresa, her eyes darting around the busy offices.
Theresa stopped in front of a brown door, sighed before twisting the knob.
“Finally!” Wills snapped. He was already in the room, seated beside an older man. “I thought you were so eager to end the marriage, why are you late?” His mouth curved into a smirk.
Ivy’s chest tightened with anger, not because of Wills’s words, but because she could see how tense Theresa got immediately.
“Hello, Rex, Theresa greeted the older man, and then turned to a beautiful woman seated on the other side of the table. “Hi Janice.”
“Hello Theresa,” Janice smiled and then her eyes drifted to Ivy.
“That’s Ivy, my friend,” Theresa said as she pulled out a chair.
Wills scoffed, and Ivy glared at him as she took her seat beside Theresa.
Wills leaned closer to Rex, and whispered something, then they both laughed. Ivy saw as Theresa bit her lip at the sound.
Ivy reached for her hand and gave her a little squeeze which made her smile.
“So,” Wills leaned forward. “Let’s cut to the chase here. I want spousal support.”
Janice scoffed. “Keep dreaming Wilson. You signed a prenup, remember?”
“It was under duress and without counsel. It can be overturned in court,” Rex said.
Theresa leaned forward, her eyes brightening with something sharp. “So you’re finally agreeing to being pathetic.”
Wills ignored Theresa. “One million every month for just 3 years and I’ll be out of your hair.”
Theresa chuckled bitterly. “You fucking wish.”
“Language please,” Rex cautioned.
“Well, Wilson. You signed an airtight prenup. You get nothing from this marriage, except of course you want to take this to court.”
Ivy felt Theresa stiffen and watched as Wills leaned towards Rex again. They whispered to each other before Rex spoke.
“Okay, we are willing to consider. Since going to court is a waste of time, my client is ready to accept a one time payment of two million dollars.”
Janice’s brow furrowed. “If you think we’re-”
“Done,” Theresa interrupted, closing her eyes. When she opened it, it was devoid of emotions. “If that’s what it would take to get this man out of my life, then deal.”
“Three million then,” Wills countered, his eyes gleaming with mischief.
“Don’t push it, Wilson,” Theresa said through gritted teeth. “You should be lucky I’m not dragging your ass to court over infidelity.”
Wills laughed, obviously unfazed by how much he hurt Theresa. “I know you won’t want to waste your time in court with all that nonsense. Three million baby, I will sign those damn papers.”
Theresa’s eyes narrowed with hesitation and she leaned closer to Janice, and whispered.

Seconds later, Theresa spoke. “Deal”
Janice took out a file, opened it and pushed it to Wills. She tossed him a pen, her mouth oured into a frown. “When you’re done signing, payment will be processed”
Wills scoffed, leaning back confidently as he picked the pen. “You don’t trust me, baby?
“No I don’t, Theresa admitted, her eyes blazing with anger. “Sign the papers”
Wills chuckled and then signed. When he was done he pushed the file back. There You’re free now. I hope it was worth it Ivy’s phone buzzed, and she quickly reached for it. “Sorry,” she said, sheepishly as she stood up “Excuse me, please, the added, making her way outside the room.
When she was outside, she sighed, shaking her hand to ease the tension she had felt in the room before glancing at her phone.
Detective Spence was calling and her throat tightened as she picked.
“Hello, Detective.”
“Hello, Ms Stone,” Detective Spence said. “How are you doing, malam?”
“Good, great,” she replied, hearing the panic in her voice. “And you?
“Great,” he said cheerfully. “Good news malam, I have found Mr Geoffrey’s family
Ivy shut her eyes, her heart pounding quickly, “Great… and the bad news?
Detectivve Spence paused. “Mr Geoffrey doesn’t want to see them. Actually, he has blocked my number”
Ivy let out a groan, rubbing her temple.
Why was Patrick changing Geo’s mind again?
