Mason replayed yesterday’s interview on his computer and his heart swelled with pride. He looked dashing in his blue suit. No wonder Cheryl couldn’t take her hands off him all night.
His thick voice filled his office and he smiled with approval. What could he say? He had always prided himself as an opportunist; seizing the moment immediately it came.
And when he heard about Geoffrey’s news, he just knew it was the perfect opportety to stay relevant and torment Ivy. He hit the pause button and went to read the comments under the video. Some people had shit to say, as expected, but most people liked his side of the story. They believed him.
“Good,” he said out loud as he leaned into his chair, his heart filled with delight. Let them insult Ivy, she deserved every terrible thing that comes her way.
Mason was about to replay the video when he heard a commotion outside his office. He lifted his head, his eyes fixed on the door.
The voices outside grew and he tried to figure out the reason for the noise.
“You can’t go in there! I have to ask Mr Hunter!” Jenny said, her tiny voice pushed to the max.
Mason adjusted in his chair wondering who Jenny was arguing with. Just as he was about to stand up and check it out, his door opened.
“Ivy?” His voice cracked with shock as he slowly sat down back.
Jenny rushed in, sweating and panting, behind Ivy. “She didn’t listen to me.”
Ivy, on the other hand, looked calm, collected, almost… sinister. The smirk on her face filled him with dread as he stood up again.
“Tell your secretary to leave us alone,” Ivy said, her voice calm and her green eyes on him.
Mason swallowed. “Jenny… you can go.” Jenny was about to protest, but he quickly held his hand up. “I will call you.”
Jenny groaned and glared at Ivy before storming out of the room. Mason adjusted his tie as he gestured to a chair in front
of him.
Why was he shaky? He cleared his throat and sat back down.
“To what do I owe this visit?” he asked smugly, trying to take control of the conversation.
Ivy looked at him and his heart flipped. She didn’t say anything at first, and neither did he. He looked at her, his eyes traveling all over her body.
God, she looked so hot in her black gown, and her breasts were…
He cleared his throat and leaned forward. “You will have to talk, you know.”
“You know why I’m here, Mason,” she said. Her voice was harsh, even though she wasn’t shouting. “You have to fix it.”
He chuckled, amusement dancing inside him. “Fix what?”
“The stupid interview!” she snapped and he flinched. “You have done enough to my family and I am willing to let you redeem yourself, so fix it.”
“Wait, what are you expecting me to do?”
“Another interview, a press conference, an article, anything!” she snapped.
Mason couldn’t believe Ivy had the nerve to try to control him, and that made him want to yell in anger… and laugh too.
And he did laugh, releasing the anger building in his chest. “Who the hell do you think you are commanding me?”
“A woman who is giving you a chance to fix all of this before I do my worst,” Ivy said, so coldly, so firmly, but Mason tried his best not to be moved by her tone.
“I didn’t do anything,” he smirked. “So I have no idea what you’re even talking about.”
Ivy’s brow creased, and her mouth twisted into a frown. “The Geo’s news! The lies! My company! Thomas! Everything!”
The look on Ivy’s face told him she was serious, and yes, he was frightened by it, but he didn’t show that.
Instead he changed the subject. “You’re different.”
Her eyes widened with surprise. “What?”
He chuckled at her shock. “The hair, the clothes, the confidence, the… body…” His eyes fell on her chest and he kept it there, hoping to break her, to make her uncomfortable.

narrowed with anger. “You leave me no choice then! Get ready for whatever comes!”
She turned to the door, and Mason knew she was about to leave. His head raced with ideas; he couldn’t let her go yet. “Have you found the person responsible for the vandalism of your company?” He blurted out and waited.
Ivy paused before she slowly turned. “Why did you ask?”
He sighed, relieved that he had her attention once again. His heart filled with pride as he leaned back in the chair, his dick throbbing in his pants.
“Because I know you will never find the culprit. Well, the main culprit, aside from those foolish men locked up.”
She gasped, her cheeks turning scarlet as she walked closer. “What did you do? I know you did it, but how?”
His mouth curved into a smirk, and he held it for a second longer. Oh, how he enjoyed the confusion on her face. “Joe.” “Joe,” she repeated, tilting her head like she was processing everything. And then it clicked. He saw her green eyes burn with anger. “You fucking idiot!”

He didn’t know why he just admitted to that. Maybe because he was already tired of the whole thing, or maybe because he wanted to get a reaction from her, to keep her in his office for long so he could keep staring at her breasts.
“Hurt you?” she snapped, slamming his table. “You hurt me! When you… ruined our marriage!”
“And you hurt me by marrying a Stone,” he said, his chest easing with his admission. “Since we’re saying everything,” he said standing up, not bothered if she could see the bulge in his trousers. “You could have settled for anybody else, but you settled for Thomas’s brother.”
“You settled for Cheryl! You are in no position to tell me that,” Ivy yelled, her eyes burning with so much anger, so much hate.
“You made me do that.”
Ivy scoffed as she adjusted her gown. “I’m not doing this with you, Mason,” she said, turning to the door again.
Quickly he ran up to her and held her hand. She nudged him away, stepping back. “Get the hell away from me!”
He dropped his hand but he blocked the door with his back, forcing her to move even further away from him but towards
his desk.
“You asked for it, and I will tell you,” Mason said, unable to control the annoyance in his voice. “You knew how badly I wanted to hurt Thomas and you switched sides!”
“I moved on. It wasn’t about you anymore,” Ivy said, her tone matching his
God, he was pissed. He unclenched his fist, breathing in and out to calm himself.
“Well, how does it feel to be on the losing team?” he asked, tilting his head.
“There’s no team. There’s just you… bitter and mean.”
Her words stung, cutting through his heart and he groaned. “Oh but there is! I’m not the one people are saying awful things about. You think you’re perfect, yeah?” he laughed. “But now the whole world knows you’re not. You and your fucking family!”
“Geoffrey had nothing to do with it. You’re just sulking like a spoiled child. I know everyone can see how hard you try to be relevant!” Ivy sneered, her eyes gleaming with mischief. “You’re the loser here, Mason. Now get the hell out of my way!” “I gave you everything!” He said through gritted teeth. “I did everything!”
“We are done. Out of my way,” Ivy said calmly, and it hurt him that she wasn’t angry anymore.
He wanted to push her, to provoke her into staying. “Thomas is never getting out of this situation and it’s all your fault.”
She laughed, and his heart pounded with shame. “You’re pathetic, Mason.”
Mason’s heart shattered at the resolution on Ivy’s face. God, what had he done?
He had pushed her into becoming someone different, someone hotter and he was mad that she had control over >
emotions.
He stepped forward, his heart suddenly aching with passion and the urge to make her his again.
“Ivy…” he said, his voice soft.
“Let me leave,” she said, surging towards the door.
Mason couldn’t let her go. Not with the way she didn’t care about him anymore and definitely not with how hot she looked.

He took her suddenly and before she could protest, he captured her lips in a kiss.
From the corner of his eyes, he saw the door opened.
“What the fuck!” Cheryl yelled as she entered the office.
Mason groaned, releasing Ivy.
