Chapter 22 The Fallen Alpha
I turned and walked into the kitchen, clutching my phone tightly as I calculated how to rid myself of this useless family.
Just then, Tamara’s sharp voice rang out from the living room. “Unbelievable! She’s living in luxury while forgetting her own grandparents! What an ungrateful brat!”
I quietly unlocked my phone and scrolled until I found that trending video. It featured four extended Rolls–Royces and eight imposing, dignified alphas. And at the center of it all was Susan, basking in their attention like the moon surrounded by stars.
My fingers clenched around the phone, jealousy twisting inside me until I could barely breathe.
Why? Why does that little b*tch get to live in luxury while I’m stuck here, serving a house full of worthless parasites?! I bit down hard, my heart burning with resentment.
My fingers flew across the screen as I typed out a scandalous exposé, “The Silvermoon Alliance’s little princess is wicked at heart! Out of jealousy, she pushed her stepmother down the stairs, causing a miscarriage! After two rounds of severe bleeding, the poor woman barely survived–yet the real culprit went unpunished.”
The moment I hit send, a commotion erupted outside. Someone shouted, “Rogues are here!”
My heart lurched, and my phone nearly slipped from my grasp.
Tamara burst into the kitchen, her face pale as she stomped anxiously. “Quick! A pack of rogues just broke in! Get Frank out of here–now!”
Rogues are tribeless, wandering werewolves who live like bandits and raiders, looting and killing wherever they please.
If Frank were still a strong alpha, we wouldn’t need to fear them.
But now we can only hide from them.
A wounded alpha in their hands would meet a fate worse than death …
Panic surged through me as I sprinted toward Frank’s room, my mind in utter chaos.
Frank panicked as well. Seeing that I was moving too slowly, he slapped me across the face and roared, “Hurry up and help me walk!”
I endured the pain on my cheek and supported him as we fled through the back of the kitchen.

We took refuge in the fields after learning of Frank’s parents‘ capture. Fearing for our lives, we fled up the mountain, too afraid to return even after nightfall.
The mountain air was bone–chilling, and both of us shivered uncontrollably.
Frank looked at me and suddenly sighed, “You’re the only one who hasn’t abandoned me…”
I smiled at him tenderly, but deep inside, I sneered.
Not abandoned you? Ha! Do you really think it’s because I care? I’m only staying for my own future.
I had already been marked. If I wanted to attract a new alpha, I needed something that made me stand out.
For example, “a devoted woman who remains loyal even when her mate is crippled and destitute.” That kind of reputation was worth cultivating.
That was the real reason I hadn’t left you!
A woman who is deeply loyal but suffers under her mate’s mistreatment is a story that inspires pity and desire in other men.
Eason’s POV:
Standing in front of Silvermoon Manor, I noticed that Susan seemed a little nervous. I reached out and ruffled her fluffy head.
Her hair felt so soft to the touch that I couldn’t resist stroking it.
“See, this is our home now.”
Looking at the grand estate before us, I couldn’t help but feel a bit emotional.
The Silvermoon Manor occupies 86,000 square feet of land, making it the largest estate in the entire Silvermoon territory.
The Silvermoon territory had been divided into eight parts. According to werewolf tradition, a tribe could only have one Alpha, and the Alpha Council had forbidden the Silvermoon Tribe from having eight Alphas simultaneously.
So, my seven brothers and I had followed tradition and each established our own tribe. But we all agreed on one thing: our family would remain in the shared center of our eight territories–the former Silvermoon Alpha’s residence, now known as Silvermoon Manor.
This way, we adhered to the werewolf customs while still ensuring we could live together. Even the Alpha Council had no grounds to object.

Ivan buried himself in work, spending most of his time with his Silverfang Tribe and rarely coming home.
The rest of us were busy with our own responsibilities. Laurence spent his days at the chapel, keeping Kelly company, only returning at night.
Today was the first time in years–aside from holidays–that all eight brothers were home together.
We wanted to take Susan around the manor and show her the place. But Laurence immediately shut us down.
“Susan just got out of the hospital! She needs to rest.”
We had no choice but to give up and instead suggested taking her to see her room.
Laurence shot us a glare. “Why are you all standing around here? Go bring your mom back. Tell her Susan has returned!”
Ever since her daughter disappeared, Kelly had never been the same. She stubbornly moved into the chapel, refusing to return home.
Over the past two years, her spirit had faded. She had lost interest in everything, growing weaker and more frail with each passing day…
In the end, Laurence grinned and took Susan’s hand. “Come, Susan. Let me show
room.”
