The Song in the Alpha’s Heart
Chapter 22
His eyes had an inner ring of dark amber and the outer ring an almost glowing golden amber. His face was long and a touch narrow, with high cheekbones and a long straight lupine nose. He had a medium sized mouth with full lips. Jonathan was a Beta
Class Fighter.
Jonathan stood up abruptly upon hearing Alora’s name. Alora was one of his brightest students, a genius even among all the highly intelligent supernatural’s. Although most of his students used a shorter version of the word supernatural, preferring to use
super for one and supers for many nowadays.
This happening to any of his students, let alone one of shining stars, angered and upset him. One of the reasons the Alpha and Luna were here to visit him was because of Alora. Today was the Senior fight training examination. A public event attended by the
school teachers, the Parents of the Senior’s and the rest of the students of the school.
The school had a large, covered stadium arena that resembled a coliseum inside. With its pillared areas, gradually rising stone seating and fighting pit. The twenty foot wall surrounding the fighting pit provided the base for the stone seating. Today’s big event was taking place there.
“Did you see everything that happened?” Jonathan asked Brock worry in his voice.
“I got here in time to see Darien and Serenity run into each other’s arms. Congratulations by the way, Serenity is a good female and a strong fighter. Stronger than both her brother’s, not that she’ll show it often.” Brock said in his deep gravelly sounding voice.
“You know the three in the picture with Alora too?” Luna asked Jonathan, showing him the picture.
Jonathan recognized them immediately. Their mother was a highly respected biochemistry Professor at the Pack University, MSTA. “Their mother is Professor Camille Mountainmover, originally from my own Clan Shadowtail. Her mate is Alfred Stone
Mountainmover.”
“Alfred Mountainmover is one of the lead trainers for the Pack’s Delta Enforcers, he also teaches Environmental Geochemistry at MSTA part time.” Brock reminded Alpha Andrew,
Andrew nodded when he realized just who Brock and Jonathan were talking about. Ember was remembering how much Alora told her she loved her lesson with a Professor Mountainmover, and figured the one she was talking about had to be this Camille Mountainmover.
“Andrew, this must be the Professor Mountainmover Alora always talked about when we would ask her about her University classes.” Ember told Andrew.
“It must be, Camelle has told me Alora is one of her favorite students.” Jonathen said assuredly.
This made Ember and Andrew happier, their son had found a female from a strong and intelligent family. It made them worry less for their son’s future. They were still worried about their oldest, Damien still had no mate, and their darling Alora was just
rejected by her mate.

Ember looked up at Andrew, and he looked down to meet her gaze. Andrew felt her worry through their bond and felt the same way she did. “What are we going to tell Damien?” Ember asked Andrew through their mind link.
Andrew’s brow furrowed, then he looked up at Brock. “Tell me every detail you witnessed.” Andrew demanded of his old friend.
Brock told them, from start to finish, Ember looked down at the photo again, then a detail she missed before startled her. Ember grabbed her mate’s wrist, Andrew looked down in question. Ember showed him the picture again.
This time Ember pointed at Alora. “Look at what she’s wearing, my darling.” Ember’s voice held a tinge of excitement. ‘Could this mean Alora is done hiding? she wondered.

Andrew frowned, at first, Ire didn’t think anything of it. Alora was dressed in the same shorts and tank style most female shifter types wore. Then it dawned on him, Alora was wearing normal clothes, Alora never wore normal clothes.
“This means something.” Andrew said aloud, surprise in his tone.
“Do you think she’s done hiding?” Ember asked him.
Jonathan was looking back and forth between Alpha Andrew and una Ember. It wasn’t until he came around his desk and looked at the picture again that he realized what they were saying and asking.
“She must be.” It was Brock who answered the question, taking the words right out of Jonathan’s mouth.
Jonathan narrowed his eyes at Brock for a moment, then let it go with a roll of his eyes. He was a high school Principal, he had a dignified image to uphold after all.
“I believe concealing Alora’s new middle and surname would be pointless, now that it’s been revealed in such a public way.” Jonathan commented.
Ember and Andrew’s gazes met, they had originally com ere to see about using Alora’s original name when she was announced for her battles. Now, like Jonathan had said, it was truly pointless.
