Chapter 10
“Lawrence…”
Olivia’s eyes, filled with tears the moment she saw Lawrence, looking so pitiful that anyone would think she had suffered a great injustice.
She tried to lean into him, but Lawrence waved her off, calling the butler to keep her at a distance.
He handed his coat to the butler with a casual elegance that showcased his status and nobility.
Emily’s gaze also shifted to Lawrence.
His deep, cold eyes lifted slightly, a chilling frostiness emanating from them that sent shivers down everyone’s spine.
The entire hall fell silent instantly.
Everyone was waiting to see how Lawrence would react to Emily
Except for Emily herself, who remained the calmest of all.
When Olivia had deliberately approached to provoke her, Emily had already heard the sound of a car pulling into the driveway.
Those two slaps weren’t just Olivia’s doing; Emily had delivered them specifically for Lawrence to see.
Lawrence’s face darkened as he walked towards Emily.
Olivia subtly stepped forward, making sure the red mark on her face was visible to Lawrence.
Lawrence frowned unconsciously.
Olivia thought he was feeling sorry for her and couldn’t wait to reprimand Emily.
She took a step back, wiping her tears and pleading on Emily’s behalf, “Lawrence, Emily didn’t mean it. She might have
misunderstood me, that’s why she hit me. Please don’t blame her…”
But Lawrence’s eyes narrowed as he looked down at her, “What are you doing here?”
His icy tone was devoid of any emotion, leaving Olivia stunned and everyone else equally surprised.
After all, it was no secret within their circle that Lawrence had a thing for Olivia.
Even Sophia had confirmed it.
Logically, he should be siding with Olivia and kicking Emily out of the house, right?
Olivia’s expression changed, unsure if Lawrence was genuinely unwelcoming or just asking casually.
She bit her lip and replied, “Mrs. Parker invited my mom over, so I came along…”

Lawrence’s gaze swept across the hall, darkening further when saw Elowen’s face.
His voice grew colder, “Why did you bring her here on purpose
Oly thought she had misheard, her eyes reddening as she looked at Lawrence, “Lawrence, it’s not like that. I didn’t do “anything to Emily. It was Emily who hit me first…”
“You saw it just now. I didn’t even have a chance to fight back.
was all Emily.”
Emily had no interest in watching their melodrama. Without even glancing at Lawrence, she walked straight through the living room towards James’s quarters.
Seeing that Emily didn’t even acknowledge him, Lawrence’s face darkened, “Emily, who said you could leave?”
Emily didn’t need to guess what this bad man wanted. He probably wanted to back Olivia up and make her apologize.
Not a chance.
She hadn’t come back for him; she was here to keep James from being upset and to calm William down.
She wasn’t going to waste her time on these people.
Without looking back, Emily left the hall.
Lawrence’s temple throbbed, and he clenched his jaw, ready to chase after her.
“Stop, don’t you dare go.”
Seeing Lawrence about to chase after Emily, Sophia’s face darkened, “Come here, I have something important to discuss with you.”
“What is it?”
Feeling increasingly irritated, Lawrence unbuttoned the top two buttons of his black shirt, his Adam’s apple bobbing.
The sexy curve left Olivia staring in a daze.
Sophia’s face remained cold. “What do you mean, ‘what is it? Are you just going to let Olivia suffer like this? If you don’t stand up for her, I will. I’m telling you, I can’t tolerate Emily for another minute.”
“If you two are going to divorce, do it quickly. Stop dragging it out.”
Lawrence’s expression remained calm, though he felt a growing annoyance. “Whether we divorce or not is between me and her. Stay out of it.”
Seeing that Lawrence wasn’t getting to the point, Sophia sensed something was off. “Have you scheduled the divorce yet? When are you planning to do it? And the whole thing about you throwing a birthday party for Olivia last night is all over the place. Aren’t you going to give her an explanation?”
Lawrence’s eyes darkened. “What explanation do I owe her?”
Sophia assumed he was deliberately avoiding the topic and smiled at Olivia. “Of course, it’s about your marriage.”

Chapter 10
Lawrence’s icy gaze fell on Olivia, making her shiver. She weak called out, “Lawrence…
Lawrence’s imposing presence was overwhelming, and Olivia didn’t dare meet his eyes.
Last night, she had indeed spread the rumor that Lawrence had thrown the party for her and had secretly sent photos to “Emily’s phone. She hadn’t mentioned anything else. The people present had done the rest for her.
scene. The scandal that ensued was exactly what she had
She hadn’t expected Emily to actually show up and cause such wanted. Only if Emily and Lawrence divorced would she have a chance to marry into the Parker Villa and become Lawrence’s wife.
But she couldn’t afford to Jose her image in front of Lawrence now. She bit her lip, tears welling up as she approached here? I really didn’t mean to. If you don’t want to see me, I’ll leave Lawrence. “Lawrence, are you upset because I
right now…”
As she spoke, Olivia turned to leave.
Sophia stopped her, glaring at Lawrence. “If you dare kick Olivia out, I’ll turn against you. Don’t forget, if it weren’t for Olivia saving you back then, you wouldn’t be standing here now”
Thinking of the past, Lawrence’s expression softened slightly.
Seeing this, Olivia cautiously tugged at his shirt. “Don’t be mad. I know it’s my fault. Go find Emily. She might be waiting for you. I’m fine.”
She thought this would make Lawrence feel even more for her. But to her surprise, Lawrence turned and headed straight for the backyard, leaving her without hesitation to find Emily.
Olivia’s nails dug into her palms, barely keeping her composure
Seeing this, Sophia felt even more for Olivia. “You silly girl, I finally got him to stay, and you push him towards Emily. What about those slaps she gave you…”
Olivia forced a smile. “It’s okay, Mrs. Parker. As long as Lawrence is happy, I don’t mind a little suffering.”
Hearing this, Sophia was even more convinced that Olivia was the daughter–in–law she wanted. Obedient and sensible, unlike Emily, who didn’t understand any rules and was a hundred times better.
“Olivia, trust me. Once they divorce, I’ll make sure you marry Lawrence.”
Olivia’s face remained calm, but her heart was racing. “I’ll listen to you.”
Lawrence arrived at James’s quarters but didn’t see anyone in the living room. He walked upstairs, faintly hearing Emily and James talking in the study. He slowly approached, leaning casually against the study’s outer wall, not feeling the least bit guilty about his actions.
