Chapter 13
The two of them whispering to each other looked just like a loving young couple,
But to William, something felt off.
“Emily, Lawrence is right. You two have been married for three years now. It’s time to have a child of your own. Or are you just wanting to play around for a few more years and deliberately avoiding it?”
Emily bit her lip, feeling wronged but unable to say anything in front of William.
If she said it was Lawrence who didn’t want a child, William’s sharp mind would definitely sense something was wrong
between them.
If she said she didn’t want one, William wouldn’t believe it.
After all, she had willingly married Lawrence, someone she liked so much. It wouldn’t make sense for them to be childless after three years.
No matter what she said, it would be wrong. Emily was so anxious she was about to cry.
At that moment, Lawrence spoke up for her, “Grandpa, it’s not Emily’s fault. I wanted to enjoy our time together, just the two of us, so we haven’t had a child yet.”
“You young people are always so carefree. It’s been three years. It’s time to settle down and have a child,” William said
earnestly.
The misunderstanding was cleared up.
“Grandpa, I understand. We’ll have a child. You can look forward to having a great–grandchild soon.”
Whether it would be Lawrence’s child, that was another matter.
Emily tried her best not to let William see through her, quickly agreeing.
William was overjoyed to hear Emily say it herself, “Good, good, good. You said it. I’ll be waiting for the good news.”
“Alright, Grandpa, take care of your health. Don’t overwork yourself. I’ll come visit you.”
After a few comforting words, Emily finally hung up the phone.
The next second, she stood up and glared at Lawrence, “Lawrence, are you doing this on purpose?”
Lawrence’s expression didn’t change. He straightened his clothes and said leisurely, “What did I do? I was just chatting with you and Grandpa. You didn’t like it?”
Emily gritted her teeth, too angry to say more. She greeted James and turned to leave.
She didn’t even look at Lawrence.
Lawrence wanted to follow her, but James called out to him.

Chapter 13
“Where are you going?”
Lawrence paused, his tall figitre turning around, exuding a rebellous aura, “Didn’t Grandpa scold me enough? Want to continue?
You…”
James said angrily, “Let me tell you, if it weren’t for Emily’s family being in trouble back then, do you think you could have
married her?”
“Three years of marriage, and you haven’t even visited Emily’s relatives. Is this how you act as a husband?”
Lawrence’s face turned cold, “That’s none of your business. I have my own ways.”
James snorted, “You only have a way with words. Emily has been staying at home for you these past few years, losing her own life. And you, partying outside every day, not doing anything responsible.”
“By the way, go and get rid of that mother and daughter outside Emily doesn’t want to see them. Don’t affect her mood.”
Lawrence didn’t speak, his face dark.
After a moment, he looked up at James and said lightly, “About Emily’s grandpa William, don’t you have anything to tell me?”
Rumor had it that Emily left the Johnson Villa and was taken to a remote countryside, living with her relative William.
But the person he just saw in the video had an aura even more imposing than James, with a wild and domineering look that couldn’t possibly belong to an ordinary person.
It was impossible to associate him with an old man living in the countryside.
James and Emily must be hiding something from him.
