Chapter 7
Hearing her defiant words, Lawrence’s face darkened even more
his grip tightened.
Suddenly, he laughed coldly, “Really? How do you plan to pay for this room then?”
Emily’s chin hurt from his grip. She glared at Lawrence, making muffled sounds..
Looking at her defiant face, now adorned with makeup she never wore before, and her curvy figure…
Dangerous signals flashed in Lawrence’s deep eyes.
At home, she always had a bare face.
Now, just because she mentioned divorce, she learned to wear makeup and dress to attract men?
When did she change so much?
Why hadn’t he noticed?
Taking advantage of Lawrence’s momentary distraction, Emily pushed him away.
She pulled her coat tighter around her and kept her distance.
Before speaking, she rubbed her chin and cheeks, “Lawrence, are you crazy? You love Olivia. Me asking for a divorce is exactly what you want, isn’t it?”
Three years of being ignored, treated like she was invisible, having a child was like asking for his life.
Now that she mentioned divorce, he wasn’t happy?
Was his male ego that strong?
And saying she couldn’t pay for the room, did he really think she couldn’t live without him?
Emily didn’t even look at Lawrence behind her. She snorted and walked out of the room in her high heels.
As soon as she reached the lobby, the manager stopped her.
“Ms. Johnson, if you’re leaving, please settle the room bill.”
Then, seeing Lawrence behind her, the manager immediately lowered his head and respectfully greeted, “Mr. Parker.
Emily rolled her eyes and casually pulled out a card from her bag, handing it over.
She had booked this hotel on a whim,
Now that Lawrence had found her, disrupted her plans, and even taken someone away, she couldn’t stay here any longer.

The manager took the card with both hands and went to the front desk to swipe it.
Lawrence stood behind her, his suit jacket draped over his arm, revealing a black shirt underneath.
Broad shoulders, narrow waist, long legs.
His eyes were fixed on Emily.
Many passersby couldn’t help but be deeply attracted.
But Emily didn’t notice.
She just wanted to leave quickly.
The manager soon returned with the card, “Ms. John I’m sorry, but this card isn’t working.”
Emily was slightly stunned. Without thinking much, she took out another card from her bag.
Still no luck.
Emily took out all the cards in her bag.
All of them were declined.
Her cards were all frozen.
Emily turned around, finally willing to face Lawrence, who had followed her down without saying a word, “Did you do
this?”
Most of the cards she had were given by him, and the other two were from James. Now, none of them worked. It was definitely related to him.
Lawrence didn’t deny it. He stepped forward, looking down at her, “Who said this marriage is over? Before the lawsuit starts, I froze my own supplementary cards. Is there a problem?
“Or do you think I’ll let you use my money to support another man?”
Emily was furious. She never expected the heir of the Parker family, a rising star in Emerald City’s business world, to use such underhanded tactics to force her to comply.
Thinking about the timing of his words earlier, she suddenly understood. She almost laughed, “Lawrence, do you really think using this method will make me compromise, pretend nothing happened, and obediently go home with you?”
Lawrence’s face darkened, not believing she had any other options, “What else do you plan to do? If you don’t com back with me, where will you go?”
For the past three years, every time she threw a tantrum, he gave her an out, and she always took it. Today would be no
different.
He frowned slightly, “Grandpa is still waiting for us to explain. Don’t waste time.”
His eyes showed no emotion. He treated this as
merely a matter of restoring his male pride, not even curious about why

she wanted a divorce.
Emily knew all too well how cold and heartless Lawrence could be. His love wasn’t for her. Even after three more years, it
would be the same.
“She found it pointless, “I’m not going back with you. Give up.”
Lawrence frowned, “What did you say?”
Emily smirked coldly, “Isn’t it obvious? Lawrence, you know how you’ve treated me these past three years. Now that Olivia is back, you can’t wait to be with her. You use her to humiliate he, just to force me to divorce you.”
“Now that things are going your way, you’re not happy? Do you want me to go back and continue being the neglected wife, watching you and Olivia in love every day? Lawrence, do you enjoy bullying me?”
Lawrence’s brows furrowed, pulling her close, his voice low, “Don’t play games with me. When have I ever bullied you?”
If this wasn’t bullying, what was?
His grip wasn’t light, and Emily felt pain. But it couldn’t compare to the pain of the wound in her heart being reopened.
After all, she had loved him deeply. Even if she decided not to love him anymore, her heart’s reaction couldn’t lie. She felt like she was suffocating.
“You want to know? Fine, I’ll tell you. Three years ago, on our wedding night, Olivia called, and you left without a second thought. Three years later, she returned, and you abandoned me even missing Grandpa’s birthday party to find her. When the Johnson family had trouble, you gave money without a word because of her. Should I go on?”
The person he truly cared about was Olivia, not her. Three years ago, it was like this. Three years later, nothing had changed.
So, she decided to let go.
The air grew tense. Lawrence’s face was tight, a storm brewing in his eyes, “I didn’t know marrying me made you feel so wronged, that you kept track of everything I did.”
“But don’t forget, you were the one who brought the marriage contract to force me into this. Wasn’t it all voluntary?”
Now you regret it? Too late.
