After four hours of intense work, it was nearly dinner time, so they decided to take a break and continue in another
two hours.
Freya took this opportunity to organize her thoughts and decided to step outside to clear her mind. She thought about picking some apples from the mountain to bring back to Johnny and the others tomorrow.
The resort was vast, and she wasn’t sure where Matteo and the others were, so she didn’t run into them as she went
downstairs.
The sky was still light, and she took two staff members with her to help pick apples.
The air was slightly chilly, but Freya, bundled up in a thick coat, didn’t feel the cold much. She spent some time on the mountain enjoying the wind and picking apples, and gradually felt her mind unwind.
With the help of the staff, they quickly filled two or three crates with apples. Afterward, rather than going straight down, Freya noticed the sunset was beautiful, so she sat down to enjoy the view.
Just then, she heard the sound of footsteps and a child’s voice.
Turning around, she met Harry’s gaze.
He, too, seemed taken aback by the encounter, pausing for a moment.
The voice of the child rang out happily from his phone, “Auntie!”
It turned out Harry had been on a video call with his niece, Daisy, showing her apples from the tree and telling her that he would bring some back tomorrow.
He hadn’t expected to run into Freya while going up the mountain.
Although they had met a few times before, and Harry had helped her in the past, Freya still felt distant from him. She didn’t want to grow close to him.
The moment she saw him, her face immediately hardened.
However, hearing Daisy’s voice made her expression soften just a little.
Harry noticed the change in her demeanor but didn’t approach immediately. He only asked, “Daisy wants to talk to you. Would you be willing?”
Freya remembered how much Daisy had helped her during their previous encounter, especially when she was feeling down after leaving the rehabilitation center.

She appreciated Daisy’s kindness and support, so she nodded.
Harry handed her his phone but didn’t come closer. He stood a few meters away, respecting her space.
Freya chatted with Daisy for a little while, learning that Daisy was spending time with her grandmother and hadn’t come to the resort with Harry.
They spoke about the sunset, and after about ten minutes, Freya handed the phone back to Harry.
After Harry finished speaking to Daisy, he turned to Freya. “Thank you.”
Freya simply replied, “No need to thank me.”
By the time they arrived back at the resort, the sky had already darkened completely. However, there were streetlights on the mountain, so descending wasn’t difficult.
Freya, after a brief moment of hesitation, turned around and started walking down the mountain.
Harry, seeing that she was leaving, followed her silently without saying a word. The two of them descended together, but neither of them spoke throughout the walk.
As they approached the resort, they were about to enter when they ran into Raven.
Raven saw them coming down from the mountain, walking side by side, and froze for a moment. Then she pursed her lips tightly.
Freya didn’t acknowledge her at all. She simply walked past her and entered the lobby.
Raven stood there, staring at her retreating figure. Then she turned her head and looked at Harry, furrowing her brow as she spoke in a low voice, “Harry, you guys…”
Harry, unbothered, replied calmly, “We ran into each other on the mountain.”
Raven was aware that Harry had been on a video call with Daisy while walking up the mountain to show her the apple trees. So, it made sense that they would cross paths if Freya had been up there as well.
After a brief pause, Raven relaxed slightly, but before she could say anything further, Harry asked, “Where are they?”
“They’re over by the pavilion. The ingredients for the bonfire feast are ready, and they were about to call you,” Raven replied.
“Got it,” Harry nodded, and the two of them walked toward the pavilion together.
Tonight’s bonfire feast featured pancakes, Burrata Salad, and barbecue.
The long table beside them was laden with an assortment of fresh, high–quality ingredients that had been prepped

for grilling and cooking.
The bonfire was already lit, and the group gathered around it. Levi and the others had already started eating the bobo chicken, dipping it into the spicy broth.
When everyone had gathered, they were ready to formally begin the feast. However, Levi, who had already tested the food, looked up and noticed that Freya was still absent.
He turned to Isabella and said, “Isabella, can you go upstairs and call your mom down? Tell her we have some good food, and she should come eat with us.”
Though he doubted Freya would come down just like at lunch, it was still necessary to extend the invitation
Raven understood what he was implying.
After all, they had done their part. If Freya didn’t come down, it would be her own decision
Raven looked at Isabella and added, “Isabella, go on.”
Isabella frowned, clearly reluctant to go.
She really didn’t want her mother to join them.
But seeing how everyone had asked her to go, she knew she couldn’t refuse. As she was about to put down her drink Matteo suddenly spoke.
“I’ll go,” he said.
The moment the words left his mouth, the room fell silent.
