Chapter 45
She quickly flipped through their chat history and discovered that every morning, Isabella would actively send Raven a message to say good morning. They chatted every day, and for a long time.
When she heard the elevator sound, Freya pretended she hadn’t seen anything and placed the phone back in its original spot.
Isabella grabbed her phone and, upon opening it, saw that Raven had replied. Raven mentioned that she couldn’t bear to be angry with her and hadn’t replied earlier because she was still half–asleep.
After reading Raven’s message, Isabella immediately smiled happily.
Freya, walking ahead, turned slightly and knew exactly what had made her so happy.
Lost in her joy, Isabella didn’t notice Freya glancing back.
Once in the car, Isabella sat in the back, continuing to message Raven. Occasionally, she would steal a glance to see if Freya was paying attention.
Seeing that Freya was focused solely on driving, she felt relieved.
However, since the school was far away, after chatting with Raven for half an hour, she stopped.
By this time, her mood had lifted, and she was ready to talk to Freya.
“Mom, are you free this afternoon?”
Freya didn’t turn around, “What’s up?”
Isabella didn’t say directly, but playfully asked, “What do you think?”
“There’s a lot going on recently. I’m busy. Why?”
Isabella smiled brightly, “Nothing… Nothing at all.”
Since her mom was busy in the afternoon, she knew that meant her mom wouldn’t specially come to pick her up after school.
This meant she could go straight to find Raven after school without worrying about being caught by her mom. Yay!
At the school, Freya chatted briefly with Isabella’s homeroom teacher before heading with her to the classroom.
As they reached the classroom door, a sweet little voice suddenly called out, “Sister Mag!”
Freya paused, and a small, soft figure suddenly rushed into her arms.
Fearing the child might fall, Freya quickly bent down and caught her.

Chapter 45
When the child looked up, Freya recognized her instantly, “Tommy?”
The little girl was the one she had saved a few days ago, who almost got bitten by a dog.
“Mm!” Tommy, with two cute little braids, was very rosy and adorable. Her smile was sweet and innocent, and she looked very well–behaved.
Freya instinctively softened her voice and smiled, Tommy, are you studying here too?”
“Ah!”
Before Freya could finish her sentence, Isabella suddenly pushed Tommy away forcefully.
Freya quickly caught Tommy to stop her from falling, Tommy, are you okay?”
Tommy shook her head, looking upset as she glared at Isabella, confused as to why she had pushed her, “Why… why did you push me?”
Isabella had initially not realized that the little girl had rushed into Freya’s arms. But seeing how familiar they seemed with each other, and noticing that Freya hadn’t let go of the girl, her expression soured.
Seeing Tommy about to cry from the fall, Isabella sneered, “So delicate, so pink and soft. Ugly and disgusting!”
Tommy was sweet looking, adorable, and her outfit was age–appropriate – she was someone everyone would want to hug and kiss.
Nothing about her seemed ugly or disgusting
She had always been praised for her looks, and this was the first time anyone had said such a thing to her.
Tommy immediately burst into tears and clung to Freya, refusing to let go.
Freya quickly soothed her, “No, Tommy, you’re not disgusting at all. You’re actually beautiful and cute. Don’t you
think so?”
Tommy’s mood improved a little after hearing this, but before she could speak, Isabella, still seeing Freya holding Tommy and praising her for being cute, immediately teared up:
“You II don’t like you anymore! I don’t want you to be my mom!”
With that, she tried to run away.
Freya quickly reached out and stopped her.
Her words had taken Freya by surprise.
Although Isabella was angry, Freya didn’t want to scold her in front of everyone and embarrass her.
