with each moment, the life from Helios seemed to be draining out, ng with his powers.
This was it. he had accepted his fate, he was going to die, and his mate… he closed his eyes sighing, trying not to think of her, but his mind had other plans.
“Helios” he heard her voice in the dark of the night.
“just let me die in peace, please” he begged whatever deity was out there since the goddess had decided to abandon him.
“I don’t want to think of you any more” he said barely above whispers. He could see her now, she looked even more real than the voice in his head. He sighed, cursing the goddess out loud.
“is that how much you don’t want to see me Helios. Is that how much you despise me?” she took a step closer to him but she shook her head. It was not real, she was nothing but a figment of his imagination.
He blinked, trying to clear his vision, but she remained, her form shimmering like a mirage in the desert heat. Was this a hallucination brought on by his powers leaving him? Or was it something more? He couldn’t be sure anymore.
She took a step closer to him. “I am sorry. the night of the ball, I was foolish” he closed his eyes, shaking his head, not wanting to hear it,
don’t worry about it, I am not bothered by it” he said lying through his teeth. It struck her, a stab to her chest. All this time, she thought she had betrayed him, but he didn’t even care. He just…
“I see” she said, forcing out a smile. “I’ll just” she said pointing to the door as she slowly, very slowly, turned her back to leave.
He reached out a trembling hand, wanting to touch her, to reassure himself that she was real. But his fingers met nothing but air. Panic surged through him, clawing at his chest as he struggled to hold on to her fleeting presence.
His vision started to go dark, the silent whispers of the night fading out as she left him to himself.
And then, just as he felt himself slipping away into the void, he felt her beside him – her warmth, her presence enveloping him like a comforting embrace. It was real, he realized with a jolt of clarity. She was here, with him, sharing in his pain and his struggle.
Tears pricked at the corners of his eyes as he turned to look at her, her face a beacon of hope in the encroaching darkness. “Lucia,” he whispered, his voice barely a whisper. “I thought you were with the prince.” He asked. Holding her a bit tightly
She hugged him back just as tight as she did not want to lose him and it felt like she would if she did let go. “I am sorry Helios. swear it by the goddess, I did not mean for what happened to happen. I thought… I would make no excuse for it. I am sorry. I did not mean to choose him over you, will always be by your side, no matter what.” She was having a mini panic thinking he would up and leave her but instead, he did the opposite.
“its fine Luzia, I wasn’t on my very best that night either” she sighed in relief as she heard the way he dragged her name. it might have just been three days since she was gone, but it felt like eons since she heard that name.
“I’ve missed you Helios” she whispered as she hugged him tighter. The air in the room suddenly became tense the longer they stayed together in that position.
Nt took Helios a while, but he finally realised that he was not as weak as earlier.
“Helios?” She whispered, feeling a bit out of place to ask what she wanted.
Luzia” the way he called her placated any worry she had on what was in her mind.

can I…” she took in a deep scent of him, inhaling his familiar rosemary and citrus * can I kiss you?”
it was quiet for a while, him freezing completely in her arms, causing her to go into panic mode
“I am sorry, it was just a stupid thought, I just”
“what’s stopping you?” he pulled away, just enough to see her face it not completely from the hug.
She froze also, not thinking that he was going to say that.
He waited for her to take the first move. He couldn’t believe it, but is heart was beating loudly, it was a wonder how the guards hadn’t come to check what was making such an atrocious sound.
“i.. I should kiss you?” she said already using the moon’s light to look at the price”
Her heart was skipping beats as she looked at him. She had never taken the first step before.
“unless you do not want to” she could see the smile slowly forming on his lips. She took not another second and placed a quick kiss on his lips, sending a buzz through both their bodies.
It was as though the fire in Helios‘ body was lit.
He touched her chin, parting her lips a bit and closing it up with his own.
The kiss was warm and tasted familiar. He didn’t want to let go.
He was shocked for a moment when she tried to take control, pushing him back slightly as he had somewhere along the way sat up to hug her.
He smirked into the kiss, biting the upper part of her lips causing a moan to escape her lips.
“I’ve missed this” he rumbled, nestling his face in her bossom, sucking on one of them and then biting, it.
She moaned again from the pleasure that it gave her causing her pull his hair back from the pleasure.

“by the goddess” the growled, going back to kiss those inviting lips. His hands wandered south, finding her sweet sticky spot through the linen.
“Helios” she called, panting heavily as his hands stroked her causing her mind to go into a frenzy.
“hmm” he rumbled, licking and sucking every part he could and finding
“Helios, I am in love with you”
a way through her underwear to get closer to his meal.
He froze, looking at her with something she could not pinpoint but i didn’t look good.
