The Wolf and the Fae
Chapter 101
He looked at her for a whole minute, not knowing what to say. His find racing. “Helios, I said I am in love with you” she said pulling completely from him and adjusting herself to cover properly when he did not answer.
He looked like he was in a different space entirely. She sat there, loking at him for a minute before she decided it was best to
leave.
“I am sorry, Luzia, I can’t love you” he said whilst she was just at the door, just ready to leave.
“don’t call me that” she said in a low voice, barely holding the tears she fought to keep back.
“what?” the effect of the adrenaline that pumped through his bloods a consequence of what they had just done started to fade away. “what do you mean?” he asked confused.
“you can’t call me the way you do and cause my blood to rumble and then not want me, Hellos. I have tried to take It in, take that you would never see me more than another one of your subjects. But I can’t anymore, especially when you do this” she said gesturing between the two of them.
“but I thought you wanted this. I thought you liked this?” he said moving a bit from the bed but not quiet. I thought you wouldn’t be comfortable with me getting other people to satisfy my needs and then… I thought we had this conversation?”
She closed her eyes, sighing a few times. “I am done Helios. I am done taking a step back and then a thousand steps backwards. I for once want my feelings to be put first before any other person’s, is it too much to ask? And for the record, for the past few days, was kidnapped by Prince Adrian and I somehow managed to escape. Good night, my lord”
The last sentences made his mouth run dry. He had no idea that she was not safe. The weakening of his powers somehow affected the necklace that was for sure. He watched her leave, unable to say anything.
The air around him crackled with an intensity matched only by the fire burning within him.
The air outside was not any different there was a raging storm that threatened the surrounding place, bolts of lightning hit the trees to the ground
It had been mere hours since he discovered the horrifying truth – Lucia had been taken from their home right under his watch and he hadn’t even known about it. The realization had struck him like a bolt of lightning, leaving him reeling in shock and disbelief. How could such a thing happen under his watch? How could he, the protector of his land, fail to keep his own mate safe?
With each passing moment, the weight of his failure bore down on him like a mountain pressing against his chest. He clenched his fists, his knuckles turning white with the force of his grip. The anguish that consumed him threatened to consume him whole, but he refused to yield to its suffocating embrace.
“I should have been there,” he muttered to himself, staring into the dark, his voice barely above a whisper yet carrying the weight of a thousand regrets. “I should have sensed the danger. I should have protected her.”
But the truth was, he had been blinded by his own rage. He shouldn’t have let his guard down especially since the rebels had threatened her life before and they were still sending threats. He had let his guard down, never once imagining that his enemies would dare to strike so close to home.
nies…
With a roar that echoed across the plains, Helios unleashed his fury upon the world. He swore an oath to himself and to the goddess that sooner or later, the stupid prince was going to pay.
On this particular morning, Lucia woke in a better mood, although the wounds had physically healed she still felt a bit slow from the wolfs bane that was in her system.

Chapter 101
Constance made her way to Lula’s chambers with a sense of urgene that beffed the serenity of the palace. There was news to be shared, news that would shake the very foundations of their world.
enter, her heart heavy with the burden of what she was about Knocking gently on the ornate door, Constance awaited permission to reveal. When Lucia’s melodic voice bid her to come in, she pushed open the door and stepped into the opulent chamber.
Lucia” she smiled, masking the worry she felt, “how have you been swear I haven’t seen you in days” she came in, closer to her
space
“it’s a long story Constance, one I am actually not ready to talk abo
Lucia turned to face her, her brow furrowed with concern. “What news do you bring, Constance? You look troubled you definitely aren’t doing a good job hiding it.”
Taking a deep breath, Constance summoned the strength to speak the words that weighed heavily on her heart. “It concerns Lord Helios, a curse that has befallen him.”
The Queen’s eyes widened in alarm, her delicate features contorted with disbelief. “A curse? What manner of curse could possibly afflict one as powerful as Helios?”
Constance/hesitated, knowing that the truth she was about to reveal would shake the Queen to her core. “he cannot fall in love, I am sure you already know this part. The curse is, he might loose his powers and might even die if he does fall in love”
Lucja snorted, barely keeping herself from snorting. “I believe you don’t have to worry then, because I can assure you he doesn’t see me that way”
Constance looked at her for a while before she said “he’s been losing his powers and lucia, he is following the symptoms of the
curse”

As the weight of Constance’s words settled upon her, Lucia felt a chill run down her spine. But it didn’t make sense to her. He had told her time and time again that he didn’t see her that way, that he could never love or see her more than another in the kingdom Why would he lie?
“Is there no hope for him? Surely it could have been a mistake she asked, her voice barely above a whisper as she struggled to comprehend the enormity of what Constance had revealed.
Constance shook her head sadly, her gaze filled with sympathy for her Queen’s plight. “I fear not. But there is a way” at that Lucia’s ears perked, wanting to hear the solution.
“you’ll have to leave him.” She recoiled like she had been burnt
“I know its hard and believe me, I want nothing more than the two of you being together but honestly? At what cost? The king is going to die if you two continue this way.
For a moment, silence hung heavy in the air, broken only by the distant sound of birdsong drifting in through the open window.
“but there is a chance that he might love me then, how do I just give that up?”
Her chest was heavy, her throat closing up as she fought the tears.
