The Wolf and the Fae
Chapter 120
Helins looked at her with wide eyes, not sure he heard her well. “wh?” he asked in the softest voice over, barely heard to her now
himan ears.
“we have put it off for too long Hellos, I just..” she took in a deep bath as if trying to properly form the right words in her head “1
want to get to the.. next stage she ignored his eyes she looked at him, unsure in that awkward situation
“Lucia,” he called softly, his voice a gentle caress that sent shivers down her spine, “You don’t have to do anything you’re not ready
for.”
She turned to face him, her heart pounding in her chest. The sincerity in his eyes made her breath seize for a moment. Sometimes, she found it hard to believe that he was the same cold hearted man she found all those months ago.
“I want to,” she whispered, more to herself than to him. “I really do.
Helios looked at her, letting his hands roam, his movements slow and deliberate. He took her hand in his, his touch warm and reassuring. “We can take it as slow as you need,” he said. “There’s no rush.”
Lucia nodded, trying to steady her breathing. She could feel the weight of his gaze, the intensity of his desire tempered by his care for her. It made her want him even more, made her want to push past the barriers that held her back.
Helios leading her with a gentleness that made her heart ache. The room was dimly lit, the soft glow of the bedside lamp casting a golden hue over the sheets. She snapped her head to the window he could have sworn that the sun was just rising few moments
ago.
“how did you”
“I am the king of this realm, I can do as I please” he smirked, looking her lips
Helios leaned in, his lips brushing against hers in a tentative kiss. She responded, her body trembling as she opened up to him. His kisses deepened, his hands starting to explore, but always with a careful touch, always seeking her permission.
But as the intensity of their embrace grew, so did the tightness in Lucia’s chest. The memories she had tried so hard to bury began to surface, the ghostly echoes of past traumas clawing their way to the forefront of her mind. Her breath quickened, panic seizing her in its relentless grip. They weren’t hers, she was sure of it, but somehow they still affected her
“Stop, she gasped, pushing him away. “Stop, please.”
Helios immediately pulled back, his face etched with concern. “Lucia, what’s wrong? Are you okay?”
She shook her head, tears welling in her eyes. “I can’t do this. It’s too much. It’s… it’s too fast.”
His eye widened with a mix of hurt and confusion. “I’m sorry, I thought… I thought you were ready.”
“I thought I was too,” she choked out, her voice breaking. “But I can’t… I just can’t.”
She scrambled off the bed, pacing the room as she tried to catch her breath. The walls seemed to close in around her, the air thick with the weight of her panic. She could feel Helios watching her, his presence a reminder of her failure.
“Lucia, please,” he said softly, standing up but keeping his distance. Talk to me. Tell me what’s going on.”
“I don’t know!” she cried, her voice tinged with frustration and fear. I don’t know why I’m like this. I want to be with you, but every time I try, I just… I can’t. there are images in my head, I know they aren’t mine but I just…”
