Helios paced up and down the outside of Lucia’s room. he had given her some space through the night as things were still awkward between them from their failed intimate encounter.
He finally got the courage to knock as he saw a maid approaching.
“yes?” he went in without a second thought, freezing in place as he walked in on her in just her night wear.
“helios!” she said scrambling to cover herself “1.. I am sorry, I thought…I just wanted to wash myself and…”
“its fine, I should have properly announced that I was the one there he pointed to the door
They stood in an awkward silence for a while before he broke it
“Lucia,” he began softly, his voice carrying through the silence. She looked up, her eyes a mix of curiosity and lingering defiance.
“Helios,” she replied, her tone guarded. “Have you come to lecture me on yesterday? Because 1..”
He shook his head, a small, sad smile touching his lips. “No, Lucia. Ive come to talk.”
She straightened, adjusting her robe further. “About what?”
He moved closer, taking a seat across from her. “About your safety.”
Her brow furrowed. “My safety? Helios, I’m fine. I don’t need-”
“You need to leave the castle,” he interrupted gently but firmly.
Lucia stared at him, her eyes widening. “What? Why? I see” she said looking away from him. “you no longer want me then, you finally see that I am useless I suppose. Was it about the outburst? I apologised. She looked at him desperately

Helios sighed, running a hand through his hair. “Lucia, it’s not about your outburst. The kingdom is growing more unstable by the day. There are threats we can’t foresee or control. The academy is the safest place for you right now.”
She stood abruptly, the chair scraping against the stone floor. “So, you want to send me away. Just like that.”
“No, Lucia, you have to understand-”
“I understand perfectly,” she snapped, her voice rising. “You want me out of sight, out of mind. I’m just a problem you need to solve,
aren’t I?”
“That’s not true,” Helios insisted, standing as well. “You’re my mate, and I want to keep you safe.”
“ex mate” she snapped “Safe?” She laughed bitterly. “Safe from what? Myself?”
“Safe from those who wish to harm you,” he said, his voice breaking slightly. “Lucia, please. This isn’t easy for me either.”
She turned away, walking to the window. The gardens below were a lot of color, a stark contrast to the turmoil within. “I thought this was my home,” she whispered. “I thought I belonged here.”
Helios moved to stand beside her, his gaze following hers. “It is your home. And you do belong here. But right now, the academy is where you need to be. It’s not forever, Lucia. Just until things settle down.”

“And what if they never do?” she asked, her voice small and uncertai
He placed a hand on her shoulder, gently turning her to face him. “en we’ll find another way. Together.”
She searched his eyes, finding the sincerity and pain mirrored in her own heart. “I don’t want to go,” she admitted, her voice trembling.
“I know,” he said softly. “But sometimes, the hardest choices are the ones that are most necessary.”
For a moment, they stood in silence, the weight of unspoken words heavy between them. Finally, Lucia nodded, a tear slipping down her cheek. “Alright,” she said, her voice barely above a whisper. “I’ll go.”
Helios pulled her into an embrace, holding her tightly. “Thank you,” he murmured. “I promise, we’ll see each other soon.”
As they stood there, the light shifting around them. Helios knew that sending Lucia away was the right choice, but it didn’t make it any easier. And Lucia, despite her reluctance, understood that sometimes, love meant letting go..
The next morning, the castle was a flurry of activity as Lucia’s departure was prepared. Helios watched from a distance as she boarded the carriage, her face a mask of determination. As the wheels began to turn, carrying her away from the only home she’d ever known, Helios felt a pang of sorrow

It’s like the other woman doesn’t exist. Why even write about him cheating if u were only going to talk about it in 1 paragraph. I keep thinking that this story will get better …
