Chapter 131
Helios staggered through the portal, his body bruised and battered, his robes tarnished and broken in places. Each step was a struggle, his limbs heavy with exhaustion and pain. Behind him, the portal closed with a flicker, severing the tenuous connection to the Shadow King’s realm.
He took a deep breath, drawing in the familiar, warm air of his homeland. The sky above was an endless expanse of blue, bathed in the soft, golden light of the ever–present sun. The scent of blooming flowers and fresh grass filled his lungs, a stark contrast to the acrid, smoky atmosphere of the Shadow King’s domain.
The landscape of Helios’s realm was a breathtaking sight: rolling hills covered in vibrant greenery, sparkling streams winding their way through lush meadows, and majestic mountains rising in the distance, their peaks kissed by the golden light of the eternal sun. But today, Helios could barely appreciate the beauty around him. His vision blurred, and his legs threatened to give out beneath him.
In the distance, the gleaming towers of his castle rose majestically, a beacon of hope and sanctuary. Each step towards it felt like an eternity, Helios’s mind drifted back to the fierce battle he had just escaped. The Shadow King had been more formidable than he had anticipated, a swirling vortex of darkness and malice. Their clash had been a maelstrom of light and shadow, each strike a testament to their raw power and determination.
Helios had fought valiantly, his blade of light cutting through the darkness, but the Shadow King’s relentless assaults had taken their toll. With a final, desperate surge of energy, Helios had managed to create a rift between the realms, just enough to escape with his life. Now, each labored breath reminded him of the high cost of that victory.
As he neared the castle gates, they swung open with a creek, and Helios was met by a group of his loyal guards. Their expressions shifted from relief to alarm as they saw the state of their ruler. Two of them rushed forward, supporting Helios as he staggered inside.
“Your Majesty, you’re hurt!” one of them exclaimed, his voice tinged with worry.
Helios managed a faint, reassuring smile. “I’ll be fine. I just need rest.”
They guided him through the grand halls of the castle, past towering marble columns and walls adorned with tapestries depicting the glorious history of his realm. Finally, they reached his chambers, a serene sanctuary bathed in soft, golden light. Helios sank onto the plush bed, the softness a stark contrast to the harsh reality he had just faced.
As he lay there, his mind raced with thoughts of the battle. The Shadow King’s words echoed in his ears, a haunting reminder of the darkness that threatened his world. “This is not over, Helios,” the Shadow King had hissed, his eyes burning with malevolence, “You cannot escape the shadows forever.”
Helios closed his eyes, allowing the warmth and light of his realm to wash over him. He knew the Shadow King was right. The battle was far from over. But for now, he was home, surrounded by the light and life that he had sworn to protect.
His loyal advisors and healers soon gathered around him, their faces etched with concern. One of the healers, a gentle woman named Lyra, began to tend to his wounds with a soothing balm made from the rare, glowing flowers that grew only in the heart of
their realm.
“Rest now, my lord,” Lyra said softly. “Your strength will return with the light of the sun.”
Helios nodded, too weary to speak. As the healing warmth spread through his body, he allowed his eyes to close, surrendering to the embrace of sleep.
He was so glad that Constance was nowhere in sight, or he would have to look at her do a smug face on how getting the healers were handy after all.
Being to the shadow realm was so draining, he had used his last strength to get out of there. It felt like his powers were being

chocked, though not physically.
He tossed and turned through the night, at some point the sleep draning from him.
he summoned one of the physicians, as he did not have enough to support himself without getting drained.
“my lord, you called?” Lyra walked in to the room, a little more sway to her hips when Helios sat up.
“yes, mix me an elixier this one is worn of, it should not be this soon though, did you cast the healing spell on it correctly?” he said breathing loudly as he was trying to cast some spells to relieve him f the headache.
“of course my lord, I did everything just as you asked.
“then I need-”
“what you need sire, is this” her voice was uncomfortably closer to him now, almost in his ear.
There was something in her voice, it was not like before. It drowned him in, forcing him to hear more of it.
He turned to looked at her. Wanting to scold her for coming into his personal space when he froze at the sight in front of him.
She was bare at the top region
