Chapter 143
The moon hung low over the palace, its silver light casting eerie shadows through the grand halls. Helios sat in his chambers, brooding over recent events. The betrayal, the pain, and the lingering guilt weighed heavily on his mind. His once unshakeable confidence was now marred by uncertainty and self–doubt. He had tried to reach out to Lucia but it obviously did not go well, since she shouted bloody murder when he tried to get close to her
A knock on the door interrupted his thoughts. Before he could respond, the door creaked open and Ermis stepped inside, his presence immediately filling the room with an air of smug satisfaction. Helios’s eyes narrowed as he watched the bastard approach,
his wariness turning to suspicion.

“Ermis,” Helios said, his voice cold. “What brings you here at this hour?”
Ermis smirked, a cruel glint in his eyes. “I thought it was time we had a little chat, Helios. About the future.”
Helios stood, his muscles tensing. “What do you mean?”
Ermis strolled casually around the room, his fingers trailing over the ornate furnishings. “You’ve been through quite a lot lately, haven’t you? Deceived by a siren, betrayed by those you thought you could trust. Abandoned by the one you love the most” he said,
a smirk on his face
Helios’s jaw clenched. “Get to the point, Ermis.”
Ermis stopped in front of him, his smirk widening. “The point, Helios, is that your time is running out. I’ve seen to it personally
“What are you talking about?” Helios demanded, his eyes blazing with anger but generally trying to keep a cool font
Ermis pulled out a small, glowing vial from his satchel, the same one he had used to collect the samples from Lyra. “This,” he said, holding it up, “contains the essence of your betrayal. The magic I’ve infused in here binds you to your guilt, your pain. It’s only a
matter of time before it consumes you.”
Helios stared at the vial, a mix of confusion and dread crossing his features. “Why are you doing this?”
“Because, dear Helios,” Ermis replied, his voice dripping with malice. “you need to understand that you do not belong here. All those years I watched you, looking for ways to bring you down and then the goddess provides a perfect solution” he laughed, sitting on the chair opposite Helios and crossing his legs taking a comfortable position. “I can’t believe I was your lap dog for centuries, and now its finally happening” he said with a squeal in his voice
Helios’s fists clenched at his sides. “This is about your own twisted sense of control, a stupidcontrol that you spoil my
relationship.”
Ermis chuckled darkly. “Perhaps. But you’ve made it so easy. Your guilt, your self–doubt–they’re powerful tools, and I’ve harnessed them to ensure your downfall.”
“You won’t get away with this,” Helios growled, stepping closer to Ermis.
“Oh, but I already have,” Ermis said, his eyes gleaming with triumph. “And there’s nothing you can do to stop it. The spell is already in motion, and soon, you’ll be nothing but a broken shell of the warrior you once were.”
Helios felt a surge of desperation. “This isn’t over, Ermis. I’ll find a way to break your spell. I’ll protect Lucia and the academy from you.”
Ermis laughed, a cold, mocking sound. “You’re welcome to try, Helios But know this: I’m always one step ahead. And when you finally fall, I’ll be there to watch. And then this realm and the academy would be under my control”
With that, Ermis turned and walked out of the chamber, leaving Helios standing in the moonlit room, a storm of emotions raging

within him. Ermis words echoed in his mind, taunting him with their cruel certainty.
Helios knew he had to act quickly. He couldn’t let Ermis’s dark magic destroy him. He had to find a way to break the spell and protect those he cared about. But as he stood there, the weight of his guilt and the power of Ermis’s enchantment pressed down on him, threatening to suffocate the resolve he clung to.
In the stillness of the night, Helios vowed to fight back, to reclaim his strength and his purpose. He would not let Ermis’s twisted machinations define his fate. With renewed determination, he began to formulate a plan, one that would require all his cunning and
courage..
The chains that bound Lyra glowed faintly in the dim light of the chamber. For hours, she had been testing their strength, searching for a weakness. The enchantments that held her were powerful, but not unbreakable. She knew she had to escape–Ermis’s betrayal had fueled a fire within her, a determination to reclaim her freedom and exact her revenge.
As the moon reached its zenith, casting its silver light through the narrow window, Lyra finally found a weak point in the enchantments. She focused her energy, summoning every ounce of her strength. With a surge of power, she shattered the chains, the metal falling away with a clatter.
Panting, Lyra staggered to her feet, her body aching from the effort. She glanced around the chamber, ensuring that no one had heard her escape. The silence reassured her, and she moved quickly, slipping out of the room and into the darkened hallways of the
academy.
The corridors were quiet, most of the inhabitants asleep or preoccupied with their own concerns. Lyra navigated the maze of passageways with ease, her steps silent and sure. Her heart raced with the thrill of freedom, but she knew she had to remain cautious. If she was caught, there would be no second chance.
As she turned a corner, she nearly collided with someone. Startled, Lyra took a step back, her eyes meeting those of Camille, one of Lucia’s closest friends or something like that
Lyra cursed under her breath, knowing that Camille would not be easily deceived she had heard of her tales on how she kidnapped king Helios’s mate.
“you smell of someone repulsive” she said baring her fangs.
“thanks” she rolled her eyes.
“I have heard about you, lyra the most powerful siren ever, I wonder what you are doing sneaking out of here” she said looking behind her, from where she had just come from.
Lyra gulped, weighing her options of running or knocking out Camille.
