I missed Isabella. I had grown attached to her these few weeks that she was at my side. She had this odd sense of humour that….
I was cut off by a loud warning bell that made my heart jump out of my chest from the fear.
“what is that sound?” I looked back to one of the maids. They avoide my gaze.

I got dressed, hurrying to see what the fuss was about. “my lady, iss best you stay back” it was the elderly maid again. I shook my head, I definitely was going to see what caused the fuss
I made my way in the direction everyone was going in. There was so much ruckus inside the hall. I tried to listen to the whispers all around me but I couldn’t get a single word out from all the noise.
“SILENCE!” his voice boomed from the other side of the room, he sled tall looking like a completely different person. Someone who had all the power in the world.
Maybe I didn’t know how strong he was

Everywhere quietened almost instantly, there was pinned silence.
“this should serve as a lesson to all of you. Spies, traitors whatever you are, when you come into the palace, your job is loyalty, loyalty to me” he looked unbothered, not really minding or even bothering to show any emotion. I couldn’t help but compare his behaviour when he was around me and when he was not.
I saw all the emotions. Sometimes he suppressed them but sometimes it felt like he couldn’t control them.

When he was around others, like now, he looked cold, unbothered and deadly.

I was shocked. In front of him lay Isabella, screaming as her body very slowly began to rip apart, I could see some of her insides as she screamed for help but no one dared to move. It took a minute or less and then the screams stopped. There was no sabella on the floor anymore. All that was left in her place was shredded skin, blood and the torn pieces of her clothes that were all over the floor. I looked at her. Or at least what used to be
her.

“she tried to kill you. Your food two days ago was poisoned, that was why the amulet acted out.” I was too stunned to speak. I looked at him with wide eyes,
