Chapter 63 power
Lucia sat across from Constance in the cozy outer room of her chamber, a cup of tea in her hands. The fire crackled in the fireplace, casting flickering shadows on the walls, the sky had suddenly turned grey in the middle of noon causing everyone to retire, thinking it was a storm. Constance studied Lucia’s expression, sensing the turmoil beneath her calm
facade.
“You seem distant, Lucia,” Constance remarked gently, her eyes filled with concern.
Lucia sighed, avoiding Constance’s gaze. “I’m fine, Constance. Just… thinking about
things.”
Constance raised an eyebrow, her intuition telling her otherwise. “Is this about king
Helios?”
Lucia’s eyes widened slightly, her grip tightening on the cup. “What about him?”
Constance smiled knowingly. “You can’t hide it from me, Lucia. I’ve seen the way you look
at him, the way your face lights up when he’s around and lets not forget last night” she
said wiggling her brows at her.
Lucia’s cheeks flushed, but she quickly masked it with a dismissive laugh. “You’re
imagining things, Constance. Helios is the king, nothing more.”
Constance leaned forward, her gaze piercing through Lucia’s defences. “Lucia, it’s okay to
admit your feelings. There’s no shame in loving someone plus from what I saw last night,
he would…”
“”
“CONSTANCE!” She looked mortified. She wanted to Bury her head in the sand and die at
that moment.
Lucia looked away as quickly as she looked at her. Afraid that her feelings might show.
Her voice barely above a whisper. “I don’t know what you’re talking about. I don’t have feelings for Helios.”
Constance sighed, reaching out to place a comforting hand on Lucia’s arm. “You don’t have to lie to me, Lucia. I’ve known you long Enough. I can see it in your eyes.”
Lucia’s eyes brimmed with tears, her voice cracking. “I can’t, Constance. It’s too

complicated. I can’t let myself feel that way about him.”
Constance nodded understandingly, giving Lucia’s arm a gentle squeeze. “It’s alright,
Lucia. Take your time. Just know that I’m here for you, no matter what.”
As Lucia looked into Constance’s caring eyes, she felt a pang of guilt. She knew she
couldn’t hide from her feelings forever, but admitting them felt like opening a door she wasn’t ready to walk through. For now, she would continue to deny, but deep down, she
knew that the truth would eventually come to light.
She could only pray that hopefully when truth was out, she would not be the only one
with such feelings.

(back with the rabels)
The rebels looked at Helios leaving, they had foreseen this happen. They gathered together, signalling themselves who had hidden from amongst the bushes.
The rebels murmured in agreement, their eyes gleaming with anticipation. Aria began to chant, his voice echoing hauntingly throughout the surrounding place. The air grew thick with magic, swirling around them in a mesmerizing dance.
As Aris, the leader reached the climax of the spell, the ground trembled beneath their feet. A vortex of energy appeared in the center of the circle, growing larger and more powerful with each passing second.
Suddenly, with a blinding flash of light, King Helios materialized within the vortex, his horse running for its dear life and suddenly, Ermis was no where to be seen. His eyes blazed with fury, his golden armor shimmering in the magical light.
“What nonsense is this” they looked at him, some surprised that they had caught him, the others overjoyed.
“hmph” Aris sighed looking down at Helios like a pest. “I thought it would be more difficult to catch you. Maybe you really have weakened after all” he taunted.
They moved closer to him, continuing their spells. It was one to put him to sleep. They weren’t just any spells, they had gotten it from ancient sources and could only effectively

kill the strongest fae.
Before the rebels could react, Helios unleashed a wave of energy, dispelling the magic that held him captive. It was like he had dusted off the their magic like it was nothing. The shock on their faces was one that Helios actually enjoyed. It was like he fed off the fear that they had for him.
The rebels staggered back, fear evident in their eyes as Helios stood before them, his presence commanding and formidable. “You dare to use forbidden magic against your king?” he thundered, his voice echoing ominously in the open, the sky turned darker, almost looking like it was night.
Aris stepped forward defiantly, trying to muster his courage. “You may have thwarted our spell, Helios, but we will not be defeated so easily.”
He moved to start another, a stronger one as even nature itself shook as he started his
chants. Helios was unmoved, if anything his was angry. Angry that they were wasting his precious time he could be spending with his mate.
Helios’s eyes narrowed, his anger palpable. “You underestimate me, rebels. I am not just your king; I am a force to be reckoned with.”
With a swift motion, Helios raised his hand, summoning his own powers. The vortex in which he stood was erupted in a dazzling display of light and energy as he unleashed his
wrath upon the rebels. He could tell at this point that the rebels were at this point using all their power to protect themselves from him and he wasn’t even using a tenth of his magic.
Lightening had struck beside him, effectively hitting one that was closest to him.
One by one, the dark–cloaked figures were thrown back, their spells disintegrating under the sheer force of Helios’s power. The forest echoed with cries of shock and pain as the rebels were defeated, their plans thwarted.
Aris, battered and defeated, looked up at Helios, her eyes filled with defeat. “You may
have won this battle, Helios, but the war is far from over.”
“I would decide when the war is over and when it isn’t” he said, bored out of his mind.
Helios regarded her coldly, his gaze unwavering. “Remember this day, Aris. Remember the

power that stands against you. The next time you dare to challenge me, I will not be so merciful.”
With that, Helios vanished in a blinding flash of light, leaving behind a forest in ruins and rebels defeated. The failed attempt to capture the king was a harsh reminder of the
strength and determination of King Helios, a ruler not to be trifled with.
But this was not the end, unknown to Helios, he had just fallen right into Ermis plans.

hapter 63- Ermist
Ermis stood tall and imposing, his usually calm demeanor replaced by a fiery anger, Across from him, Aris, the rebel leader looked defiant but slightly uneasy under Ermis’s
intense gaze.
“Aris, what madness possessed you to try and kill Helios?” Ermis’s voice echoed through the grand hall, each word dripping with disappointment and something more,
Aris shifted uncomfortably, avoiding Ermis’s eyes. “I thought it would be more effective,” he muttered, trying to defend his actions. (
“Effective?” Ermis exclaimed, his voice rising, “You were supposed to threaten his mate, not attempt to end his life! Our plan was to negotiate, make him think we were on his side then infiltrate the palace!. You jeopardized everything!”
Aris clenched his fists, his jaw tight. “I acted on impulse,” he admitted grudgingly. “I wanted to strike fear, to show Helios the consequences of defying us, of thinking he could bring just anyone to rule us, that he could not jost do as he liked.
Ermis shook his head in disbelief. “Impulse? This isn’t a game, Aris. Our actions have consequences that ripple through all of existence.”
“I could have taken him, I just got distracted!” Aris said, angering Ermis further
“you could have taken him?” He snapped looking at him like he was from another planet. “look at the darkened sky! He did that only with his mind! No casting of spells, nothing! You really thought you had a chance? All our powers combined are nothing compared to him! You really think you had a chance?”
Aris met Ermis’s gaze, his eyes flashing with anger. “Helios doesn’t deserve to be king. He is nothing but a servant who got lucky, Surely there is a way to get this sorted.”
Ermis took a deep breath, trying to calm his rising temper. “It’s not about what Hellos does or doesn’t deserves. It’s about staying hidden, One wrong move and he doesn’t mind ending either one of us. You let your personal vendetta blind you, and in doing so, you endangered everything we’ve worked for.”
The room fell silent, the weight of Ermis’s words hanging heavily between them. Aris’s defiant stance seemed to wilt under the weight of Ermis’s reprimand.

Chapter 63- Ermis
“We need to fix this,” Ermis continued, his tone softer but still firm. “We need to find a way to mend this and make him believe that we are on his side again.”
Aris nodded slowly, his earlier defiance replaced by a sense of resignation. “I understand,” he said quietly. “how do we go about it?” he said looking at Ermis for the next course of action.
“we?” he said raising his brows. “i think you are mistaken. It is you who would fix this”
“I should have known, you want me your boy toy to do all the work while you sit still and wait for results” he said in a burst of anger “you royals are all the sam” he spat. “Just like..” he couldn’t talk anymore as it was getting difficult to breathe
He started choking, looking at Ermis with wide eyes. “I would have you know that while I might not be as strong as my brother, you are still no match for me. Do not test me” he nodded begging for release with his eyes. Ermis released him just in the right time before he passed out.
“am I understood?”
Aris looked up, his eyes filled with a mix of regret and determination. “I won’t make the same mistake again,” he said, taking in as much air that his lungs would let him.
Ermis nodded, hoping that Aris would keep his word. “Good,” he said simply. “Now, let’s focus on making things right.” He said giving a devilish smile as he watched Aris go.
Ermis couldn’t help but wonder if Aris had truly learned his lesson. Only time would tell if the fiery rebel could temper his impulsiveness or if it was going to get them both in trouble.
“Aris” he called effectively stopping him in place, but he did not turn answer. “You realise I would nit spare if it even crosses your mind to double cross me, right?”
It was silent for a while, Ermis could see the gears turning in his head. “of course not your grace. I would be a bigger fool to do that after what just happened now” he said walking away from there.
Ermis looked at his retreating figure. “for your sake I hope you dont” he said it under his breath so Aris couldn’t hear him.
