Ermis
The palace of King Helios stood tall and imposing, overlooking the bustling city of Argos. Its marble pillars gleamed in the sunlight, and the golden gates opened wide to welcome
visitors from all corners of the kingdom. But today, a tension hung in the air as Ermis approached the palace gates, his footsteps echoing loudly in the courtyard.
He had to make it right. The plan might have been flawed because of Aris. But he had to
make sure that his brother still thought he was on his side.
“I wish to speak with King Helios,” Ermis announced, his voice carrying through the
courtyard. On a normal day he would have teleported himself into the palace. But the
magic around the castle was being tempered with. Restricted to only a few people and
from the feel of the buzz, he was not one of those allowed.
The guards exchanged uneasy glances but nodded, opening the gates to allow Ermis entry. As he walked through the palace corridors, he couldn’t help but remember the way he
fled, looking from the sides how his brother had singlehandedly brought down the rebels.
‘I have to be careful‘ He thought to himself as marched into the room.
Finally, Ermis reached the throne room, where King Helios sat on his ornate throne,
surrounded by his advisors and courtiers. The king’s expression was unreadable, as usual,
as he looked up to see Ermis standing before him.
“Ermis,” Helios greeted, his voice calm and composed. “To what do I owe this unexpected
visit?”
Ermis took a deep breath, trying to control his anger, he couldn’t wait for the moment he would bring his brother to his knees. “do I need permission to see you, brother”
Helios sighed, his gaze dropping to the floor. “Leave us” he said to the courtiers, and the others around him. They did not hesitate a single second in leaving the room. “what do
you need Ermis, surely you are not here to check up on me after leaving me in the hands
of rebels” he said without a care in the world,
Ermis clenched his fists, struggling to contain his anger. “it was a moment of panic,
forgive me sire” he said in the most sarcastic voice ever.
King Helios rose from his throne, his eyes meeting Ermis’s. “you are a warrior. You know
1/2
Ermis
maybe you don’t deserve to be my right hand man
Ermis took a step closer, his eyes blazing with fury. “Really, you would rather a stranger
carry out your secrets? Do you think they would be as loyal as I have been? To stay at
your side this long?” he said bitterly.
King Helios nodded,
Ermis looked into the king’s eyes, He was about to loose his spot 1, the easiest spot that would make him take the throne quicker. “brother, surely you can’t. It’s just.”
“Leave Ermis. We shall discuss this another time.” He had a lot to say but for now, he
thought it best to leave. Mainly because he wasn’t sure he would control himself any
longer.
he rushed out of the castle. screaming into the woods.
Aris better had the perfect plan to fix it or he was going to rip him apart, with his bare
hands.
