The summons -2
Helios was conflicted, he could smell it from miles away I was a trap. And with the threat on her head, it could just be something to lure her away from my sight.
“Please, Helios. I really have to know about myself, my parents.” He sighed. Conceding to her pleas.
“Fine, when do you leave?” he said looking at her in the dark.
“I want to leave as soon as possible, at twilight?” he nodded, even though he wanted to
disagree. It was too soon.
“Fine, be safe” she smiled at him. Rushing into his embrace.

Helios stood at the balcony of his chamber, the cool night air sweeping through the open arches, carrying with it the scent of jasmine and anticipation. Below, the courtyard lay bathed in moonlight, a tranquil oasis amidst the bustling city beyond the palace walls. Yet, despite the calm exterior, turmoil churned within Helios’s heart.
He couldn’t sleep.
For days, whispers of treachery had plagued the kingdom, rumors of dissent and rebellion lurking in the shadows. And now, a summons had arrived, beckoning Queen Lucia to attend a council meeting convened by their most trusted advisors. But Helios knew better than to trust in the facade of loyalty; he sensed a trap lurking beneath the surface.
As Lucia entered the chamber, her presence a beacon of light amidst the darkness, Helios turned to face her, his expression grave. “Helios” she looked at him all excited.
He couldn’t find it in him to tell her to stay back. Not when she looked this happy at the possibility of finding her true roots
Lucia’s brow furrowed in confusion, her eyes searching his for answers. “What is the
matter Helios?” she asked, her voice tinged with worry.
Helios took her hands in his, his touch gentle yet urgent. “There are whispers of betrayal, whispers that the council may be plotting against us,” he explained, his words weighed

down by the gravity of the situation. “I cannot bear the thought of putting you in harm‘:
way.”
Lucia’s game softened, her fingers tightening around his as she spoke. “Helios, II understand your concerns, but i cannot give this up, what if…” she said, her voice stead and resolute. He nodded his head, already knowing what she was going to ssay.
“I know, i just cannot bear the thought of losing you, Lucia,” he admitted, his voice bare above a whisper. Her heart skipped a bit as she heard those words. She told herself over and over that it wasn’t in the way he had meant it.
Lucia’s eyes softened with empathy, her thumb brushing against his cheek in a gesture c comfort. “I know,,” she said jokingly to lighten up the mood. “I mean it’s me, there is not much going on without me in it” she laughed at her own words.
Helios smiled, feeling a surge of gratitude for the woman before him. If only she knew
how true her words were.
“Very well, my queen,” he played along, humouring her. “butt” he said bringing out something from his pocket. Lucia could not see itt in the dark but said nothing waiting fo him to speak. “you left it the day of the ball” he said tuning her around and placing the necklace where it belonged, safely around her neck. “you can NOT take it off!” He said
sternly.
Lucia smiled, her eyes shining with gratitude though he could barely see it.. “Thank you, Helios,” she said, her voice filled with warmth. The familiar buzz that came from the necklace was welcomed happily. She was sure than that she was going to be safe.
No bastard was going to mess with her with this con.
That, she was sure of.
