heart break
He stood, trying to hold up his knees that had threatened to give out.
He had gone after Lucia after a while to apologise and protect her in case the rebels wanted to attack when she was less guarded. Instead, he was met with the fucker putting his lips on his mate.
At first, all that was on his mind was to go rip him to shreds and put those lips on his wall as a monument but then he waited, hoping that it was the prince forcing himself on her and nothing more.
Helios stood frozen, his heart pounding so loudly he feared it would betray him.
He stood waiting in vain as that was not the case.
The sight before him was like a dagger to his soul, piercing through layers of trust and love he had built with Lucia over the months. There, under the moonlit sky, he watched as Prince Adrian leaned in, capturing Lucia’s lips in a tender kiss.
His mind struggled to comprehend what he was witnessing. Lucia, his mate, the one he had pledged his life to, was being kissed by another man. The pain was unbearable, a tidal wave of betrayal crashing over him. Every fiber of his being screamed with rage and agony, but he stood rooted to the spot, unable to move, unable to tear his eyes away.
It seemed like all his suffering was for nothing. All the sacrifices he was making, all the pain. It was for nothing. She obviously thought nothing of him as she was comfortable kissing just anyone.
As the kiss deepened, at least from what he saw, or it could have been his mind playing trick on him. Helios felt something inside him snap. Anger surged through him like wildfire, consuming everything in its path. Without a word, he turned and stormed away, his fists clenched so tightly that his nails dug into his palms, drawing blood, but not enough to hurt him.
He wandered aimlessly through the palace gardens, his mind a whirlwind of conflicting emotions, Betrayal, hurt, and fury battled for dominance, each vying to take control. He wanted to confront Lucia, to demand an explanation for her actions, but he couldn’t bring himself to face her, not yet.

heart break
He knew he was going to say things that would make it worse.
In his anguish, Helios sought solace in the only thing that seemed to numb the pain –
alcohol with a mix of elixir as that was the only thing that would truly hit him. He made
his way to the royal banquet hall, where the sound of laughter and music completely gone
as everyone had retired for the night. There was an after party In the lower halls though. Grabbing the nearest bottle of wine, he drank deeply, relishing the burn as it seared his
throat.
But no amount of drinks he got could dull the ache in his heart, the sense of betrayal that
gnawed at him from the inside out. He drank until the world blurred around him, until he could no longer distinguish reality from illusion.
In his drunken stupor, Helios stumbled out of the banquet hall and into the moonlit courtyard. His steps were unsteady, his mind foggy with intoxication. He didn’t know where he was going or what he intended to do, only that he needed to escape the pain
and burden, if only for a moment.
It was then that he saw her a woman standing alone in the shadows, her eyes dark and inviting but it wasn’t it. her hair was not full as Lucia’s, her lips were not as full as Lucia’s, but he shook it off. Without a word, he reached out to her, pulling her into his
arms with a desperate hunger. He kissed her fiercely, his lips seeking solace in her
warmth.
But even in his drunken haze, Helios knew that this was not what he wanted. This was not
Lucia. This woman, whoever she was, was merely a distraction, a poor substitute for the
love he had lost.
‘let’s go to my chamber” the elixir had started having its impact on him as everything was
starting to get blurry. The woman happily followed him to where ever it was that he was
taking her. She did not mind all that was on her mind was that she was going to be laid by the King which was a great honor to anyone.
She slipped her shirt down, revealing a shoulder, but Helios, barely in his right mind
looked at her and then laid on the bed, getting knocked out within seconds
