chapter 78
Ermis walked into the castle, looking around for his brother. He did not have the opportunity to access his brother or get any information from him when he last came. His brother was already suspicious of him then and Emily was a hindrance.
my lord” Constance bowed as she almost bumped into him on the way to meet Helios.
He said nothing, passing her like he could care less for her and indeed, he did not care for her at all and barely knew who she was.

He made his way the throne room, expecting to see his brother in that goddess forsaken place, but alas it was empty.
“where is the king?” he looked to the guard who looked ahead, daring not to look into
the eyes of the prince.
“he is not sitting today” the guard, not breaking eye contact with the wall.
“and why is that?” he said suddenly picking up an interest and getting closer to the
guard.
“I am afraid I can’t tell you, your highness”
“come on, you know you can tell me, I want to know what is going on with my brother” he feigned concern. The guard looked at him almost rolling his eyes since he was also aware of the relationship they both had.
“I am afraid I cannot tell you anything, sire” the guard maintained
“I can offer you gold you know” he was getting desperate at this time, he needed some information to give to the rebels so that they could carry out their plans immediately.
“I cannot give you any information sire, because I know nothing about the king. He loves to keep his affairs private”
He sighed, disappointed “fine, let my brother know I was here then” he said making his way out.
On his way out from the palace though, it did not escape him that the magic around the

castle was weaker than it was meant to be.
With a smile on his lips at that information, he left the castle.
Camille stood in front of Lucia, staring down at her with a look of spite.
“the wolf’s bane should be sipping in by now.” she said with a smirk plastered on her face
“why are you doing this?” Lucia said in a tired voice. She was barely able to keep her body upright to talk.
“we’ve talked about this, haven’t we?” she she said in the most sassy voice. “I am doing this because your mate took mine, Camille stood in front of Lucia, staring down at her with a look of spite.

“we’ve talked about this, haven’t we?” she she said in the most sassy voice. “I am doing this because your mate took mine, you took everything away from me and yada yada ya. But that isn’t the main focus anymore love. Rumour has it that you have some special power on you” Lucia recoiled, fighting her hardest not to touch the necklace so as not to alert Camille.
“imagine having all that power, even Helios would not be able to stand against me with such power on me.” She laughed like a maniac.
“keep his name out of your mouth” she warned or at least tried to, since she sounded so weak and pathetic.
“or what? Listen honey, after I am done with you, I am going to take your excuse of a mate. Although, he is hot, I might want to get a piece of some of him, I am sure he wouldn’t mind returning the favour since you already betrayed his trust already.
Lucia’s world shattered the moment she overheard Camille’s sinister plan. The blood

drained from her face as the words echoed in her mind.
A primal roar ripped through Lucia’s chest as the fury surged within her. Every fiber of her being screamed for action, for retribution. With trembling hands, she tightened her grip on the chains that bound her, the metal digging into her flesh and the wolf’sbane in them sipped further into her skin.
“you would dare not to touch him” she roared, baring her teeth to Camille as a roar tore
from her throat.
Helios’s safety was non–negotiable. Lucia’s heart thundered in her ears as she struggled against her restraints, the desire to protect him overwhelming reason and logic.
She could not touch him. The thought of her even getting “a piece of him” set her further
over the edge.
With a surge of adrenaline, she summoned every ounce of strength she possessed.
“oh darling, you are only hurting yourself further. I promise not to kill you till you’ve watched me have my way with him.” She said angering her further
The chains groaned in protest as Lucia’s muscles strained against them. Her vision blurred with determination as she fought against the confines that held her captive. With a final, desperate push, the chains snapped like brittle twigs, releasing Lucia from their
grasp.
A feral gleam danced in Lucia’s eyes as she stalked towards the door, her movements fluid and purposeful. The air crackled with anticipation as she stepped out into the night, the
moon casting an eerie glow over the forest.
Every step brought Lucia closer to Camille, her mind consumed by thoughts of vengeance. The scent of pine and earth filled her nostrils as she approached, her senses honed to a razor’s edge.
As she got closer, Lucia’s heart hammered in her chest. Inside, Camille’s dark intentions simmered like a poison, threatening to destroy everything Lucia held dear. But she refused to let fear paralyze her

But before Lucia could reach her, a figure stepped forward, blocking her path. It was adrian, his expression a mixture of concern and determination. “Lucia, stop!” he pleaded, his voice cutting through the rage that consumed her.
For a moment, Lucia wavered, the sound of Adrian’s voice piercing through the haze of fury. But then, a dark shadow loomed behind him, a twisted smile playing on Camille’s
lips.
