“Jason!”
From the back seat of the white car that had just passed, Tanner rolled down the window and shouted. Vera was sitting beside her.
Jason heard and saw her, but he ignored her, his gaze cold and somewhat sinister.
“Tanner’s here. She’s calling you. Didn’t you hear her?” I reminded him.
Jason didn’t react at all.
Tanner watched the car drive away, shouting angrily for it to stop before getting out and chasing after it. She chased after the car while calling Jason. She chased him all the way to the gate, shouting hysterically at the departing car. Those who saw her thought she was mentally ill.
Vera sat in the car, neither telling the driver to move forward nor getting out to find Tanner. She sat there numbly, like stagnant water. The faint screams and shouts reached her ears, but she remained unmoved. Her wolf had completely given up, no longer capable of mustering any thoughts of resistance.
The family driver, glanced in the rearview mirror. He was puzzled. Why would Madam agree to let Miss Tanner come to the house today and even pick her up personally, knowing that Madam Sophia was coming…?
Jason’s car had disappeared completely.
Tanner slumped to the side of the road, staring at the barely visible speck of black in the distance,
her
eyes filled with ferocious jealousy and near–madness. Her wolf was insane, “TEAR THAT BITCH INTO PIECES!”
She had worked so hard to keep Jason by her side for a few days, but unexpectedly, he was with me again. They went home together and left together… They really looked like they were getting back together…
“NO! ABSOLUTELY NOT! JASON WAS OURS! WE HAD TO GET HIM BACK!” Roaring echoed round her mind, tempting the little bit of sanity she had left.
Beside a tree on the roadside, an inconspicuous business car followed Jason’s.
Three minutes later, Xander received a voice message: Ms. Wells has been abducted by her partner. I’m following them. Should I stop his car and rescue Ms. Wells?
Abducted?
Xander frowned. He pondered for a few seconds before replying, “Keep following.” He didn’t know Jason’s state of mind; rashly stopping him would be risky.
The other side responded with an “OK” gesture.
On the highway, I saw the speedometer approaching 140 kilometers per hour, with a tendency to accelerate further. My heart pounded. I grabbed my seatbelt and tried to reason with him.“Can you slow down a little?”

“Are you scared? I thought you weren’t afraid of anything,” Jason said indifferently, his eyes fixed on the road ahead.
I silently cursed him and his entire ancestry. But no matter what, I didn’t dare argue at this moment. I chuckled nervously, “I only have one life. I cherish it, and you should too.”
“Life is long. Everything will pass. Don’t get excited, don’t be impulsive.” I awkwardly offered. some cliché advice.
Jason suddenly swerved, turning from the straight highway onto a small road. My heart nearly jumped out of my chest.
I steadied myself and glanced out the window. The small road was barely wide enough for two cars to pass, lined with trees on both sides. The sky was gradually darkening. The blue hour, the time when demons appear, combined with the tense and eerie atmosphere, made the man beside me feel foreign, as if possessed by some demon.
“Can I know where we’re going?” I asked cautiously.
Jason:“I don’t know.”
I was speechless.
After five minutes of silence, I said again,“Actually, we don’t really have any deep grudges, right? You just made a mistake that all men make, and I’m just a slightly stubborn woman. We had a beautiful love, but it was worn away by time. We’re just following our hearts to the end. I don’t resent you at all, and you shouldn’t resent me either.”
