Chapter12.
“I treat her like a sister, it’s not what you think,” Jason frowned.
“Right, a sister,” I restrained the urge to expose him, to slap the evidence I’d collected in his face. “Fine, I was impulsive, I misunderstood. Congratulations on gaining another sister.”
He said nothing.
“Drive,” I said, feeling a coldness seep into my bones. I pulled my high–quality charcoal grey men’s suit tighter around myself, the warm, rich sc
of sandalwood filling my nostrils.
Only then did Jason notice the expensive suit. It was clearly custom–made. “Whose suit is this?”
I turned my head towards the window, as if to ironically respond to his “sister” comment.“My brother’s. A newly adopted one.”
Jason:“…”
His expression turned grim as he ripped the suit off me and threw it out the window. I was shocked and angry, getting out of the car to retrieve it; I needed to return it. Seeing me try to pick it up, he pulled me back, leaned over, and forcefully kissed my lips. His werewolf aura completely enveloped me, making me feel powerless.
I bit my lip hard. Sensing my resistance, he used his thumb and forefinger to pry my mouth open, his kiss domineering and unreasonable. When he was finished, he pulled away, his rough, low breath falling on my face.“Don’t do this to upset me. You need to consider other people’s feelings.”
I was beyond speechless.
The suit was ultimately lost. I had promised to clean it and return it. What am I going to do now?
After all the weekend’s turmoil, I came down with a fever that night. Jason stayed home, making porridge and feeding it to me, giving me the illusion that perhaps he still loved me.
At midnight, my fever hadn’t subsided, and I felt weak and miserable.
“Beep… beep…”
Jason’s phone on the nightstand buzzed. I sat up, and Jason looked at the phone at the same time. The time was 12:35 AM. The name flashing on the screen was ‘Sweetheart.”
What an intimate nickname….
The phone’s vibration was particularly jarring in the silent night; it felt like it was vibrating not on the nightstand, but on our nerves.
