Chapter33.
I opened the message. Liam replied: Friday, I’ll be with the master at Aman meeting a client. Mr. Wells might be able to deliver the suit then.
Me and my wolf: Uh?
My mind was full of question marks. Xander wanted to meet me again? At a hotel! A secluded hotel where you could shout, kill, or set fire to the place without anyone hearing! Mr. Shaw…. what did he want?
Me and my wolf didn’t dare to guess. It wasn’t that I was cowardly, but I couldn’t understand this young master’s temperament. I just wanted to focus on my career and not get involved in anything complicated.
After considering it for a long time, we decided to ignore it, just as he had done.
Downstairs in the parking garage. Liam sighed and put his phone back in his pocket. Although there was no need to force it, he felt that the master didn’t really think so. Besides, he had heard Zane Sulli
say that I had actively sought employment, that there must be some
misunderstanding between them, so he… took the liberty of doing this.
Meeting would allow them to talk properly.
But I was being stubborn…
The Bentley drove out of the complex, crossing paths with a Ferrari on the road. Jason parked his car by the side of the road outside the complex. He couldn’t reach me by phone, and I wasn’t replying to his messages. He was furious.
After a while, the list of residents of Blue Court, which he had someone look up, was sent to his phone. However, what surprised him first wasn’t seeing my name, but that the top–floor resident of the same building was… Xander Shaw? The Xander Shaw from the Shaw Family?
He had heard about Xander’s return to MoonCloud Pack. The Shaw Family had always been a low–profile king in MoonCloud Pack, with family members rarely appearing in public. They are the alpha family in MoonCloud Pack, each generation of alpha came from the Shaw family. It was said that Xander would be the next alpha of the Pack. Xander and he weren’t in the same circle, but they had met a few times, when they were fifteen or sixteen at someone else’s banquet. He was aloof, like a jade statue.
I had secretly bought an apartment, right above Xander’s… Could there be a connection? Was it a coincidence? His wolf, facing such a powerful potential opponent, became restless and uneasy.
He couldn’t help but recall the scene at the golf course…
After two hours, I drove out of the complex and saw his familiar Ferrari parked by the roadside. I slammed on the brakes.
Jason was smoking, the white smoke swirling around his sharp brow bones. His expression was terrifying.

My mind raced. While driving, my wolf helped me with a plan.
I got out of the car, opened the passenger door, and sat in, taking the initiative to ask coldly, “Why are you here? Are you following me?”
Jason used his cigarette–holding hand to pick up his phone from the dashboard and threw it onto my lap. “Explain yourself.”
I picked it up and saw the list of residents of Blue Court on the lit screen.
I calmly handed the phone back.“I’ve been working for so many years. What’s wrong with buying a house for myself? The down payment was my own money, not a cent from you.”
Jason’s eyes were sharp, not swayed by me.“Sophia Wells, don’t try to be clever with me. Is it about money? Why did you buy a house and hide it from me?”
“I didn’t think it was necessary. I wanted to have a house that truly belonged to me, in my own name. Is that too much to ask?” The Winter Family accused me of scheming for their money and forced me to sign a prenuptial agreement before the bonding relationship.
Jason was taken aback and laughed angrily.“All these years, have I ever been stingy with you? The jewelry and other things I gave you are worth more than a house!”
I remained silent.
Jason took out his wallet, pulled out several cards and threw them at me.“Like buying houses? Go ahead. Put your name on all of them. Buy until you’re happy.”
I laughed. “Mr. Winter, the Head Warrior, is so generous to his partner.”
Maybe I should tolerate his betrayal for the money, becoming a numb money–making machine. It didn’t seem so bad.
But I was unwilling to let my life become a numb dead end.
I picked up the wallet that had fallen to the floor and carefully put the cards back. “I won’t buy for now, I’ll ask you for money when I want to buy one.”
