“Have you ever experienced having a knife pierce your heart, yet not dying, being slowly tortured day and night, like being subjected to the most gruesome punishment in hell? I’m a werewolf! I was betrayed by my own partner, and I still have to act like nothing happened! Do you
have any idea the pain I’m in? But what did I do wrong? Where did I fail you?”
My voice was soft and gentle, yet each word was filled with blood and tears.
Jason struggled to breathe. Every word I spoke was a needle piercing his heart. He regretted it. He was simply blinded by lust. He didn’t want a bonding severance. He couldn’t live without me!
While we were talking, Xander turned his back, intentionally or not, shielding me, so people could only vaguely hear my voice and couldn’t see my expression.

of uniformed Pack Enforcer officers entered. They approached the Winter and Cooper families, presented an arrest warrant, and took Tanner, Vera, and Jason away.
As they were taken away, Tanner wailed, but the Cooper family was powerless. The evidence was overwhelming. And Xander Shaw had come to support me. The two families could only rush to contact lawyers.
The dramatic and thrilling farce finally came to an end. The actors were exhausted, and the audience was satisfied. For the next week, the upper echelons of MoonCloud Pack would be discussing tonight’s amazing drama. Those who missed it would regret it.
Soon, the people in the banquet hall left one by one.
Xander left with Zane.
I waited until Xander left before leaving. I didn’t immediately hail a cab, instead walking to the park behind the hotel, leaning weakly against a tree.
The streetlights were dim, and in my red dress, I looked like a beautiful and vengeful ghost.
In fact, I knew who the mastermind and accomplices were. I knew Jason wasn’t involved, and Vera was just following Tanner’s instructions. But when I called the Pack Enforcer, I deliberately didn’t say anything. I wanted them all to be arrested and questioned.
I hated Jason, and this was his just deserts!

Footsteps approached. As they got closer, a scent of expensive wood filled the air.
I lazily looked up.
The hazy, ethereal light from the bushes fell on him, half–lit, accentuating the contours of his already sharp profile. His lowered gaze was light, devoid of emotion; the figure shrouded in the night seemed even taller… incredibly imposing.
“You’ve gotten your revenge. You should be happy. Why are you sitting here brooding?” “…Just tired.”

say the last
Xander remained silent for a few seconds.“If you’re tired, go home and sleep.” At his words, I immediately stood up.“You’re right. I’ll go home now. Goodbye, Mr. Shaw!”
I walked a few steps in my heels, turning back to add, “Thank you for today!”
Xander:“…”
I took a taxi home to my new apartment.

I didn’t drive. I entered from the lobby and took the elevator. The doors opened, and I froze. Xander was already inside.
I bravely stepped inside, scanned my fingerprint, looked up at him and smiled awkwardly.“Mr. Shaw, you’re tired too.”
“Yes, I’m going home to sleep.”
“Me too.”
“So?” Xander tilted his head slightly, his expression somewhat cool.
My wolf and I was stumped by this “so.”
Huh?? Does this conversation have a “so” to follow??
