Chapter62.
Vivian was a straightforward girl. Disappointment was evident on her face, but she quickly recovered her spirits and happily took the number from Zane..Her wolf was always so optimistic, constantly comforting her, “HE DOESN’T LIKE US NOW, DOESN’T MEAN HE WON’T LATER.”
Zane sighed inwardly: Another oemga falling for and unable to move on from Xander.
I, however, found the girl quite cute. After all, neither of them were married. Since I didn’t know Mr. Shaw and Ms. Moore were partners, why couldn’t she make a bold move? However, she was destined for disappointment.
Anna arrived, supported by two female attendants. She had slept, but didn’t seem much clearer–headed.
As we disembarked, Zane and I were hesitant to move, afraid Ms. Moore might again cry We watched Xander, silently pleading: Please handle this, you do it.
We both cleverly stepped off first.
Xander Shaw:…
foul…
Anna walked over and leaned on his arm, as if she would faint if he didn’t support her. Xander couldn’t possibly leave the branch office’s general manager there in front of everyone, so he had to help Anna off the yacht.
At the dock, the driver had opened the car door for him.
“Where’s your car?” Xander steadied the woman who was practically hanging from his arm.
“I don’t know,” Anna mumbled, shaking her head, and then leaned heavily into his arms. Xander held her shoulders, preventing her from falling.“I’m not going your way. Either call a ride–sharing service or take a taxi.”
Me:…
Zane:…
Not giving her a ride? Too cruel!
I added silently to myself:*He just kissed her.*
Xander frowned and glared at us.“Don’t just stand there, call her a cab!”
Zane and I quickly pulled out our phones and opened the ride–hailing app…
I couldn’t help but look up.“Mr. Shaw, I think Ms. Moore is too drunk to go home alone. Perhaps we should take her to a hotel?”
“Hmph, you’re good at coming up with ideas,” Xander scoffed.
”
”
My wolf felt utterly aggrieved, “IT REALLY IS UNSAFE!”

Xander was silent for a few seconds.“Since it’s your idea, you’re responsible for her at the hotel!” Then, he helped her into the car and got in himself.
Me:??
Zane gave me a look and complained through bond, “THIS IS ALL YOUR FAULT!” Me: I…
I only spoke the truth. They were engaging in their love–hate dance, kissing and then bickering again… Am I just a piece in their game?!
I dared not speak out; after all, he was the boss.
There were only two seats in the front, now including the driver, three people… one had to sit in the back… between those two…
My scalp tingled.
“I’ll take a taxi back!” I quickly declared.
“You taking a taxi is worse than me taking a taxi,” Zane pulled me, unceremoniously pushing me into the passenger seat, closing the door for me and then slipping away.
“F…”
I swallowed a curse. I resignedly fastened my seatbelt, glancing in the rearview mirror. Xander’s profile was stern, his aura oppressive.
The car left the dock.
The ride was uncomfortably quiet. I stopped looking in the rearview mirror and focused on the road ahead. In the back seat, Anna, who had been lying down, sat up, swaying dizzily. As the car descended from the bridge and turned onto the main road, her body swayed like a falling leaf towards Xander’s lap.
