Zane nodded.“Yes, I asked her to see if Mr. Shaw needed any help, but she came back soon.” Xander leaned back on the sofa, deep in thought. His wolf’s tone was firm,“SHE SAW US.”

The next morning, I woke up early. Seeing Anna was still asleep, I went to the restaurant for breakfast. I had only eaten a small cake on the yacht last night, and I was so hungry I almost went out to get food at 3 a.m.
After eating, there was still time, so I took a walk in the hotel. The hotel was full of nostalgic South Asian charm. The tropical garden gave a feeling of exuberant life. Tall palm trees swayed gently in the breeze, making a rustling sound. Standing beneath them, I closed my eyes and felt the sunshine filtering through the leaves on my face.
The morning breeze was so gentle, and my breath was filled with the fresh fragrance of plants. Look, the world is so vibrant, passionate, and fresh; it won’t wither just because of the absence of a partner or love.
I heard footsteps approaching. The light in front of me dimmed, and the fresh air was infused with a strong scent of male hormones after exercise.
I opened my eyes. My vision was filled by a broad chest encased in black athletic wear. Well–defined pectoral muscles, beautifully sculpted collarbones glistening with sweat, a sexy Adam’s apple, rosy lips….
“Sophia, what’s wrong with your eyes?”
His soft breath, like a tropical breeze, wafted across my face. A handsome face leaned down with
concern.
I suddenly came to my senses, touched my eyes, and stepped back.“The sunlight was too bright, I felt a little dizzy.”
Xander Shaw:“If you keep looking, you’ll not only get dizzy, you’ll go blind.”
I rubbed my eyes, recalling last night’s events, feeling a little awkward.
“Mr. Shaw, do you go for morning jogging?” I tried to make conversation.
Xander gave a soft “Hmm,” wiped his sweat with a towel, and stood under a tree for a while before abruptly saying, “It was you who was peeking on the third floor of the yacht last nigh wasn’t it?”
I was caught off guard and looked at him sharply. My wolf was not happy with his word, “PEEKING? WE DIDN’T PEEKING!”
“I wasn’t peeking. As soon as I went up, I saw you… uh… doing that… that thing, and I left immediately. Really, I only glanced once.”
“That thing?” Xander’s expression was bland.

“… You know, “that” thing!”
“Explain clearly.”
”
I was speechless. Seeing his insistence that I explain, I didn’t care anymore, shamelessly saying, “Kissing, a very passionate kiss. Happy now?”
“You saw wrong.”
Xander said directly.

Of course, I didn’t believe him, but I could pretend. Whether they kissed or not had nothing to do with me.
I nodded, agreeing with him.“Okay, I saw wrong.”
Xander seemed unsatisfied with my answer, frowning at me for a while.“You don’t believe me?”
“I do, I believe you.”
“I don’t like kissing, especially with females.”
”
Y–y–you…
I felt like I had discovered some incredible secret. So, his orientation is… gay?
No, he’s having that love–hate relationship with Ms. Moore, isn’t he? Did he like women before
and men now?
I blinked, my mind completely confused.
Xander was straightforward:“In short, I’m correcting you because you’re wrong. That didn’t happen. As my secretary, you can’t have such misconceptions.”
I nodded repeatedly. “Okay, okay, okay. I understand, I understand.”
Xander finally left.
I watched his tall and straight back, my wolf was confused, “ALTHOUGH… DID WE REALLY NEED TO KNOW HIS PRIVATE LIFE IN SUCH DETAIL?”
When I returned to the room, Anna was already awake. She was completely sober and had regained the cold, black swan–like elegance from our first meeting at the dock.
“Sophia Wells, thank you last night,” she expressed her gratitude.
“You’re welcome,” I smiled.
“Then I’ll leave now. See you at the company,” Anna said goodbye and left the room.
At 9 a.m., Xander, along with me, Zane, and two other senior executives from the head office who had arrived a few days earlier, went to the branch office. They were well–prepared. They hadn’t dared to slack off since receiving the notice of the President’s visit, fearing a surprise
