Chapter80.
“Shut up!” Anna Moore roared. She found my pitiful act, designed to elicit a man’s protective instincts, repulsive.
I was stunned again by her outburst.
Jackson’s wolf was quite excited, “LOVE FOOLS ARE EASY TO MANIPILATE”
This entire conversation was also heard by Xander Shaw’s father, who was on the phone. His expression hardened, his hawk–like eyes narrowed.
“The one who should shut up is you.”
Xander finally spoke, his gaze cold as he looked at Anna Moore, offering
as he looked at Anna Moore, offering an assessment:“Beyond redemption.”
He had given her countless chances, hoping she’d listen and come to her senses, but she was still being led around by a mere clown.
Anna Moore’s lips trembled, her heart shattered by his words, tears streaming down her face. Not a single werewolf could remain unmoved when their beloved wolf is spoken to like that.
Seeing this, I finally realized that Ms. Moore’s focus wasn’t on the company’s issues; normally I wouldn’t have been this dense, not realizing we weren’t on the same page. I felt a pang of regret, but there was no time to explain my innocence to Anna Moore regarding my relationship with Xander–this wasn’t the time for romance!
Ignoring her, I turned my piercing gaze back to that despicable Jackson.“Jackson, did you think that since it was only the two of us, whatever I said would be meaningless, that you could escape punishment?”
My thoughts were exposed, and Jackson stiffened slightly.
He was furious.“Ms. Wells, I have no quarrel with you. Why are you harming me? Are you trying to impress Mr. Shaw, win his favor by fabricating lies and slandering others?”
My icy gaze remained fixed on him.
Then, I turned to Xander.“Mr. Shaw, to investigate, I brought a recorder with me this morning. It can record continuously for 48 hours.”
“I kept it hidden inside my shirt, and it’s under the coffee table in the old house where I was kidnapped. The house is by the sea. I can draw a map for you; please send someone to retrieve it. Jackson’s words, Director Du’s words, and what others at the factory said–all of it’s recorded there. The truth will be revealed shortly.”
After I finished speaking, several people, including Jackson, panicked.
“No need for a map. It’s Director Lucas’s house, and he’s already confessed.”
Xander dropped another bombshell. He called Zane in front of everyone, instructing him to retrieve the recorder and bring Lucas Bennett back.

The guilty parties in the conference room turned pale.
Moni
Meanwhile, Zane, having already received news that I had returned to the factory, along with Jason were rushing back. Lucas Bennett was already in Jason’s custody. Zane didn’t mention the details; it didn’t matter who brought him back.
I was completely unaware that my soon–to–be ex–husband was also here and would soon appear before me.
As Xander hung up, the atmosphere completely changed.
Some of those unaware began to believe I had been kidnapped and held captive. Those who knew, or had participated in the kidnapping, felt as if they’d been hoisted to a great height, about to be dropped.
Jackson’s facial muscles twitched.“Fine, find the recorder. Let’s have a confrontation. I have nothing to hide!”
“Heh…” I scoffed, my voice strangely gentle from blood loss and exhaustion.“Say more, the more the merrier. Swear to heavens, cry your heart out, otherwise the twist later won’t be dramatic enough.”
“Say it, go ahead. Who wants to help film this, in case Jackson denies it later.”
I called out, but everyone hesitated, no one daring to actually record.
Xander picked up his phone.“I’ll record.“This time, his wolf had completely relaxed, already in the mood to joke.
With Mr. Shaw himself supporting his secretary, those who didn’t take sides now risked being fired. Those who were certain of their innocence quickly took out their phones.
Faced with so many cameras, Jackson was truly panicked.
