Chapter 11
I didn’t remember how I left home.
I only remembered that, compared to Annalise, I was more like a despised clown.
My canvas shoes appeared extremely ridiculous in front of Annalise’s gorgeous high heels.
Watching me hurriedly leave, Annalise could no longer conceal her sarcasm.
She swaggered into the house, her high heels making a particularly crisp sound on the wooden floor.
Then, she entered Kaleb’s room and looked around,
The room only had black, white, and gray colors, and there wasn’t a single piece of clutter,
Kaleb and I always slept in separate rooms, so naturally, there was not a trace of my presence here.
Annalise was very satisfied with it.
She opened the curtains, letting the sunlight shine on Kaleb’s handsome face.
Kaleb furrowed his brow, felt someone suddenly sit by the bed, and then felt a woman’s warm fingertips gliding over his prominent nose bridge.
He suddenly raised his hand and grabbed that hand, refusing to let go even as she struggled.
Annalise blushed, suppressing her inner joy, and coquettishly said, “Kaleb, be gentler.*
Kaleb, however, abruptly opened his eyes.
Realizing that the woman in front of him was not me, he quickly shook off Annalise’s wrist.“Why are you here?” he asked coldly.
Noticing his unfriendly gaze, Annalise quickly got up from the edge of the bed.
Then, she explained, “You left in a hurry last night and left your coat at the club.
I’m here to bring it back to you.”
Kaleb, feeling irritated, brushed his hair backward and casually said, “Just throw it away.” He was in a terrible
mood.
Just now, he foolishly thought that even if we had argued over the divorce the night before, everything would be fine the next day.
He even thought I just came over to steal a glance at his sleeping face, trying to please and make amends.
On the other hand, upon hearing Kaleb’s words, Annalise suddenly teared up.“Why do you want to throw it away? Do you despise me?”
