Annalise snorted coldly and picked up her things.“Kaleb, did you take the wrong medicine? Why do you suddenly care about these trivial matters?”
Kaleb sat up straight, fastened his seatbelt, pondered for a few seconds, and asked, “Reilly, would your wife mind if someone sat in the passenger seat with you?”
Annalise’s
eyes
darkened for a moment.
Reilly respectfully replied, “Mr. Barton, I didn’t have a car. However, I knew that most women would mind.”
“She didn’t have OCD.” Kaleb still didn’t understand.
Reilly said, “I guess it was a case of being a clean freak.”
Obsessive–compulsive disorder? No one understood this feeling of discomfort better than him. He did not ask any further questions and started the car to leave the parking lot.
Annalise stuffed things into her Chanel bag, muttering in a dissatisfied tone, “Katrina is really stingy, what’s the big deal about letting me sit in your passenger seat? Does she have to be jealous? I don’t know what she’s saying behind my back, I am your best friend, not your mistress. It’s ridiculous how narrow–minded she is; I am just speechless.”
Kaleb coldly said, “So you don’t even want to sit in the back, huh?” Can’t I complain a little?
“She never mentions you in front of me, but it is you who dares to speak ill of her in front of me.”
Annalise clenched her fist and gritted her teeth, “Kaleb, you prioritized romantic relationships over friendship.“ Reilly felt his scalp go numb with embarrassment, and he dared not speak out of turn. He forced a disdainful smile and looked out of the car window.
Kaleb warned coldly, “Annalise, I have played with you since we were young, and our relationship has indeed been good. But that doesn’t mean you can confidently cross my boundaries. You know the consequences.”
Annalise held her breath, clenched her teeth in silence, and tightly gripped her trembling fist. Annalise was well aware that, although Kaleb appeared refined, introverted, and composed, his personality was particularly fierce. If one crossed his bottom line and provoked him, he was capable of doing anything, even being heartless and ruthless.
The vehicle drove for a short while and suddenly entered the car wash. Annalise looked over and asked, “Weren’t we going to see the progress of the exhibition hall at the Medicine Trade Fair?”

Kaleb did not answer her and commanded, “Get off the car.” Reilly and Annalise got out of the car, and when Kaleb came out, the staff greeted him respectfully, “Sir, is it a car wash?”
“Car wash,” Kaleb pointed to the passenger seat,“clean and disinfect the interior of the car, be careful.”
“Okay.”
Annalise crossed her arms and was so angry that her face turned green.
Medicine Trade Fair exhibition hall. The chaotic clubhouse was filled with renovation materials, with some exhibition halls already completed, while workers in other exhibition halls were busy rushing to finish the renovations. My company was small with limited funds, so I could only rent a small booth in the corner and the decoration was very simple. After the workers finished building the main frame, they received their wages and left. The remaining finishing work was done by ourselves.
The male colleague was posting advertising papers, while Giana and I were cleaning and picking up the trash on the floor.
“Tomorrow is starting, and I feel a bit nervous,” Giana straightened up, supporting her sore back and giving it a
shake.
“I was more nervous than you,” I sighed lightly, stood up and looked at the high–end, well–located, and luxurious exhibition halls in front, feeling envious.
“I hope we can secure a few big deals,” Giana yearned, tossing the cloth in her hand and sitting down on the chair. “I’m exhausted.”
My male colleague posted the advertisement, crossed his arms, and stood next to me. He looked around and said, “It’s almost done. Although our exhibition hall is small and in a remote location, our medicine is top–notch. Good wine is not afraid of the depth of the alley, right?”
I smiled and nodded. My male colleague, with sharp eyes, glanced sideways and said, “Oh, isn’t that your husband?”
I looked over following my male colleague’s finger. I indeed saw Kaleb in the exhibition hall ahead. There was a large crowd surrounding him, and Annalise was also among them.
Giana curiously got up and walked over to me. In her haste, she accidentally bumped me into the arms of my male colleague. I almost stumbled, and my male colleague caught me by the shoulders.
“Sorry,” I apologized.
“No problem,” the male colleague made room, allowing Giana and me to see more clearly.
