Chapter 213
“Kaleb…” Annalise’s face turned pale, showing no intention of getting off the car.“I really…”
“Get lost!” Kaleb said coldly, his words piercing like ice picks. Another second of hesitation, and it felt like a snow–capped mountain would erupt, causing the heavens to crumble and the earth to split.
Annalise was so scared that she quickly pulled open the door and got out of the car. As the doors on both sides closed, the vehicle sped away.
Maras
Reilly walked to the roadside and took out his phone to hail a ride–hailing car. Annalise suddenly rushed over and her sharp, solid high heels forcefully kicked onto Reilly’s shinbone.
“Ah!” Reilly crouched down and hugged his fractured leg, trembling with pain, tears streaming down his face. He was a hardworking man, who couldn’t cry and couldn’t fight back. He could only endure this frustration forcefully.
“Let
your
mouth be foul.” Annalise stood with her hands on her hips, glaring at him fiercely.

I was busy until 9 o’clock in the evening before I returned home. Kaleb wasn’t at home. I was exhausted both physically and mentally. I went back to my room to freshen up and, in order to be in a refreshed state for the Medicine Trade Fair the next day, I drank a cup of hot milk before going back to sleep.
I didn’t have breakfast the next day and hurriedly left. The Medicine Trade Fair had a large crowd, leaving one research professor at the company while everyone else went out. We handed out flyers, attracted customers, made introductions, and closed deals.
I wasn’t good at sales, but Giana and I stood in front of the booth and people kept coming over to inquire and learn more. Even though the exhibition hall was simple and the booths were remote, it couldn’t dampen the enthusiasm of the men. But men, as creatures, rarely got hot–headed. The idea of having an affair and the idea of doing business were clearly separated. Whenever a woman was found unwilling to give a chance, she would generally not insist on spending money.
