money couldn’t even buy it. Felipe laughed heartily, his face beaming with joy. “Annalise is such a sensible child. I wonder which family will be able to marry such a wonderful girl. Oh, Diego, I truly envy you for having such an outstanding daughter.”
Diego chuckled slyly and said, “My daughter is indeed excellent. Back then, I did say she’d make the perfect wife for your eldest son.” The implicit meaning was that my husband was unfortunate.
Tanya exclaimed, “Yes, Annalise is beautiful and very talented! The friends she associates with are all the most famous figures in the fashion industry.”
Jeffrey chuckled and said, “Unfortunately, I don’t have a son. Otherwise, I would also want Annalise to be my daughter–in–law. However, Roy is not young either, so…”
Diego quickly interrupted, “Roy is slovenly, like a rebellious teenager who never grows up. I like Kaleb to be my son–in–law, but unfortunately, he is already married.”

My body stiffened, my heart skipping a beat, and I stood there feeling somewhat at a loss. Kaleb sat casually, with one hand resting on the back of the sofa and the other holding a phone, as he glanced down and read his emails. Perhaps hearing Danna’s words, his eyes darkened slightly, and his thumb, sliding across the screen, froze.
Danna anxiously asked, “Is it that Kaleb has health issues?”
I awkwardly pursed my lips, forced a smile, and shook my head, coming up with an excuse.“Grandma, the main reason is that I was too busy and didn’t want children yet.” They didn’t have a child, and surprisingly, the first thing Danna thought of was Kaleb’s health issues. I was deeply moved in my heart. Perhaps the topic of children caught the attention of others. Danna knew about my job nature and could understand it very well. Though sad about not having a great–grandchild soon, her heart ached as she said, “Katrina, don’t work too hard. Take care of yourself.”
“Okay, Grandma!” I smiled sweetly.
Danna, curious as always, asked, “What project have you been researching lately?”
“ALS neuron antibody research. Pediatric collagen deficiency pharmacology research. Plus vaccine research for two rare viruses.”
