Watching my receding figure, Kaleb somehow felt a sense of emptiness in his heart, as if he had just lost something precious and valuable. 

But before he could figure it out, Annalise’s voice sounded, instantly interrupting his thought. 

“That’s why I don’t wanna play with those girls.” Annalise crossed her arms and leaned into Kaleb’s embrace, looking aggrieved. “They would get jealous over every little thing. 

I just can’t understand it. 

It’s much more comfortable to hang out with you guys, right, Kaleb?” 

Kaleb remained silent, his gaze fixed on the doorway, where my figure had long disappeared. 

After getting out of Moon Club, I walked along the riverbank in a dejected and disoriented manner. 

I was completely in a daze, like an empty shell without a soul. 

In the end, I stopped and leaned against the cold street lamp, my legs turning weak. 

My once straight back finally collapsed, and I covered my face, crying in a low voice. 

After two years of marriage, the illusion of mutual respect and harmony was ultimately torn apart mercilessly, revealing the battered state of our terrible marriage. 

I took out my phone and dialed Kaleb’s number. “Kaleb, I…” 

“What else do you want to do?” Kaleb interrupted impatiently. 

His cold voice mixed with lively music made me feel even more desolate. 

I laughed at myself in my heart, *Look, Katrina. 

Without you, Kaleb’s life won’t have any changes. 

Since that’s the case, why do you still choose to stay and bring humiliation upon yourself?* 

I remained silent for a while, causing Kaleb’s patience to wear thin, and his tone became somewhat chilly.“Don’t bother me if there’s nothing.” 

I suddenly looked up towards the clock tower by the river. 

The clock struck midnight, and my 26th birthday came to an end in such a chaotic situation. 

No one cared, and no one paid attention. 

Kaleb’s indifference repeatedly pushed me away. 

In the end, only a broken heart was left for me. 

On the first day of being 26 years old, I made a wish for my 26–year–old self. 

I wanted to completely leave Kaleb and never see him again.
