CHAPTER 15
##TRIGGER WARNING: S****L ASSAULT##
* Points >
Waking up in my old room at Vincent’s pack, I began to wonder if it had all been a dream. Landon and everyone else felt like figments of my imagination, mere illusions. However, the sound of footsteps echoing down the hallway startled me, prompting me to jump out of bed and stand beside it just as the door swung open.
Vincent stood in the doorway with his Beta; Milo.
“Good. You’re awake. Get dressed and come downstairs. There are some people in the living room that you need to entertain for a while,” Vincent demanded.
quickly threw on the best clothes I could find, careful to cover my scars, and made my way
down to the living room.
As soon as I entered the room, I noticed all the men seated around, smiling at me.
“Vincent said he had some entertainment coming our way,” a man in his forties said, grabbing my arm and pulling me onto his lap.
The smell of unwashed skin and the sight of his beer belly were both off–putting.
He started running his hands all over my body and he tried to move his hand up under my skirt, but as soon as I tried to stop him, he stood up holding me by the wrist and backhanded
me across the face.
“Vincent said that you were going to do whatever the hell we wanted. So, do I need to tell him that you’re misbehaving?” He sneered at me.
“No.” I said, softly.
So the guy pulled me closer to him again and he didn’t even bother taking me to another room. He sat back down on the chair and he pulled my skirt up while he started undoing his
pants…
I woke up suddenly, feeling the fresh air on my face and realizing that I was still on the boulder. I sat up on the hard surface, trying to catch my breath while scanning the area for anyone nearby. I couldn’t believe that no one had come looking for me, but it was still early.

They might have thought I had gone to my room.
The sun was just beginning to rise, and I decided to stay there a little longer to watch it. Meadow was going crazy in my head, and I could feel her pressing forward.

My claws began to extend and then retract, along with my canines. I noticed fur starting to sprout on my arm, only to recede again. “Meadow, gain control of yourself. Now,” I demanded.
“I want to end them. I want to end them all.” She growled.
“Please calm down. I can’t go back to the house if you’re like this,” I said.
“I know. But if I even catch a hint of them at the house, I can’t promise that I’ll be able to
control myself,” she replied.
I needed to ensure that Meadow had completely calmed down before I climbed off the
boulder.
As I walked back to the packhouse, relief washed over me when I found it empty, the usual
chatter absent. I hurried up the creaking wooden stairs to my room, shutting the door behind me for privacy. Rushing to the bathroom, I grabbed two small pills, swallowed them dry, and
chased them with cool water. Leaning against the sink, I took a moment to gather my thoughts. After a while, I decided to shower since I had spent the night on the beach. Wrapped
in a towel, I walked into my bedroom and was surprised to see Harper sitting on my bed.“What
are you doing here?” I asked.
“They called me last night when they couldn’t find you,” she replied.
“I didn’t think they would look for me,” I said.
“Where were you?” she inquired.
“I slept on the beach,” I answered.
“I ran up and down the beach last night, and I didn’t see you,” she said.
“I was around the bend and a bit further up. What do you know?” I asked.
“Hayden told me everything, even about you showing them your scars,” she said.
“Great,” I replied sarcastically as I walked into the wardrobe.
“He only admitted it after I asked, she called from the bedroom.
“So now you all know,” I said.
I got dressed in a long–sleeve shirt, long pants, and boots. After that, I walked back into the

bedroom and noticed two large baskets of firewood next to the fireplace. Someone had
already started the fire.
I sat in the chair under my window, a blanket draped over my lap, with books from the library
resting at my feet.
“I’m really sorry that they did that to you. Hayden is furious; he’s still looking for you. I should probably find him,” she said.
“Can’t you mind–link him?” I asked.
“He turned it off. Landon kept trying to talk to him, so he’s blocked everyone out,” she replied,
and I nodded in understanding.
“He’s really that worried about me?” I asked.
“Hayden’s not a bad guy. He always believed that you were telling the truth, that you weren’t
here to spy,” Harper said.
I sat there for a few seconds, staring at her.
“How long have you been in love with him?” I asked.
“What?” she choked out.
“It’s pretty obvious, the way you’re talking about him,” I replied.
“Please don’t say anything!” she begged.
“Don’t worry. I don’t have any intentions of talking to any of them for a long time now,” I
assured her.
“Hayden didn’t do anything wrong,” she said.
“He knew that something was going on and didn’t tell me. That’s still something wrong,” I
replied. She nodded and got up off my bed.
Just as she was about to leave my room, she walked over to me and hugged me. Then she
turned around and left.
I sat there staring at the water for a while before I reached down and grabbed one of the books I had been reading, opening it to where I had left off.
Before long, someone knocked on the door, so I got up to answer it.
“Good morning. Will you be coming down for breakfast?” Mara asked.
“No, not this morning,” I replied.

“Okay. I’ll let the Alpha know,” she said, walking away.

I guess everyone around here knows now; otherwise, she would have insisted I join them. I doubt very much that Landon cares about my feelings. If he wanted me at breakfast, he would
have demanded it.
Everyone is probably talking and laughing about me right now. Just wait–soon, I’ll be the one
laughing.
“It’s about time,” Meadow said.
