Chapter 29
I couldn’t help but let out a sneer.
Explain? What else does Ryder want to explain?
Over the years, I’ve been living in a loveless marriage.
All of Ryder’s love and concern seemed to be given to Cathy and Tyler, even though Tyler wasn’t his
biological child.
Cathy was the first love of Ryder’s life. However, a few years ago, Cathy married Ryder’s former good brother without any warning and gave birth to Tyler.
Before long, Kathy’s husband died unexpectedly. On a stormy night, she knelt at our door, crying and begging Ryder to take care of her and her son.
Her behavior touched Ryder, and it seemed that Ryder could never be tough on her.
After that, Ryder took away the little warmth that my Eva and I had and gave it all to Cathy and her
son.
Whenever I protested and told Ryder about my grievances, he would always interrupt me impatiently.
“Enough, Hannah. You already have me and a wealthy life. Kathy has nothing now. She and Tyler need more care than you do.”
Now, I’ve completely given up on Ryder.
I said, “Let’s get a divorce, Ryder.”
The scene froze every parent in place. Their smartphones hung forgotten in mid–air.
The crowd that had been so sure of everything moments ago now stood in stunned silence.
“Did he just call her… his wife?”
“That can’t be right. There must be some mistake.”

The truth hit those originally high and mighty parents like a physical blow. Horror spread across their faces as they realized what they’d done.
I turned to the officer, my voice arctic. “I need to get my daughter’s injuries treated. But I want everyone involved charged to the fullest extent of the law.”
“We’ll handle it,” he assured me, already directing his team to take the perpetrators into custody.
My lawyer handed me the divorce papers. I looked at these thin sheets of paper and found it rather ridiculous in my heart.
I had spent four years proving to him that I loved him, not the position of Mrs. Stain and his money.
In the end, I had lost everything!
When it was time to put in the effort, I gave it all.
When it was time to end it, I couldn’t be weak and hesitant!
I threw the divorce agreement at him, “I am serious about the divorce, I don’t want a penny from the Stain family, I don’t want any of your money!”
After finishing speaking, I only heard a “thud” as the divorce agreement was thrown into the trash
can.
“Get the facts straight before you go crazy!” Ryder’s patience with me quickly ran out and he began to become very irritable.
“This is all a misunderstanding… I said I could give you an explanation. Now the situation is already chaotic enough. Stop making a fuss.”
I knew that Ryder didn’t take my words seriously. Just like the rest of the Stain family, he thought that I was uneducated, had no family background and no job. If I left him, he was certain that I couldn’t survive.
“Don’t worry, I know very well about my situation.” I picked up the agreement, brushed it lightly, and handed it back to him. “It’s too late now to go through the procedures. Let’s meet tomorrow morning at nine o’clock. I’ll see you there.”
After saying that, I got into the car with Eva in my arms and drove away.

Inside the car, I put down all my disguises, leaned back on the seat and gasped for break
Being used to crawling under his feet, such actions required a bit of courage
Deciding to give up was overwhelming.
Separating from the person I had loved for nearly ten years, resolutely leaving, was painted fardeed
Spending four and a half years proving that a man couldn’t love me, perhaps this was the worst deal I had ever made in my life.
The next day, I arrived at the Civil Affairs Bureau on time. I had been waiting for an hour, but still didn’t see Ryder.
I could only send him a message, asking him to give this four year marriage a decent ending
I don’t know how much time passed before Ryder finally showed up late.
He stood in front of the car, his attractive and independent appearance resembling a painting
Immediately after, bitterness followed.
If I had known it would end up like this, perhaps I wouldn’t have made that risky decision?
I subconsciously touched my left eye, almost no one knew that I had lost the ability to see with my
left eye.
Suppressing the complex emotions inside, I quickly approached, handing the divorce agreement
back to him.
“I have signed it. You just need to sign, and then we can go through the procedure.”
Ryder became rigid for a moment. Then he said nothing more and signed.
The procedure proceeded quickly. We filled out several forms, and the staff stamped us.
“We have a thirty–day consideration period. Within thirty days, if either of us doesn’t want to proceed with the divorce, it can be revoked.”
The staff did not issue us a divorce certificate.

We had to wait for the legally mandated period to end.
“Is it possible to skip the consideration period and directly issue the divorce certificate?” I asked, wanting to resolve everything quickly.
“No, it’s not allowed.” The staff shook their heads.
I could only look at Ryder. Ryder said nothing and walked out of the room.
I had no choice but to receive the notification paper and sign.
Ryder couldn’t regret this divorce. It was just delaying the issuance of the certificate.
After it was over, I quickly caught up to Ryder. “Ryder, let’s meet after a month…”
Before I could finish saying “month,” Ryder forcefully closed the car door.
The car drove away, leaving only a cold gust of wind.
I had no other option but to shake my head discontent. It wasn’t worth it from the very beginning to marry such a selfish and indifferent person.
Standing in place for a while, I made a phone call. “I’m divorced. Come pick me up.”
