But her smile barely lasted before being replaced by disdain–she noticed my slightly
protruding belly.
“Is this bastard really yours?” Her tone dripped with upper–class arrogance.
“Mom! Can you show some respect!” Ethan resented his mother’s harshness.
“These gold–diggers, don’t be fooled… Who knows if she released that video herself to marry into our family? I’ve seen plenty of these shameless girls.”
Her scrutinizing gaze swept over me.
My face was ashen, my whole body trembling uncontrollably, eyes brimming with tears of grievance.
“Enough, say no more.” Mr. Foster paced over, fidgeting with prayer beads, his mind solely on profit.
“At this critical juncture, there’s no other option. You two marry first to stabilize the stock price, then divorce after the storm passes.”
With those words, he finally seemed to notice my presence.
“Don’t worry, we won’t shortchange you financially.” The disgust on Mr. Foster’s face was unmistakable.

“Hmph…” Mrs. Foster couldn’t help but laugh.

He took my hand, leading me to the guest bedroom door, kneeling down, asking me to give

Star–filled wallpaper covered the walls, and baby supplies were piled high.
Ethan pointed to the cradle in the center of the room, proudly saying:
“I assembled it myself. Impressive, right?”
“And baby clothes–I bought sets for both genders, just to be prepared.”
He paused, his expression turning slightly shy. “Besides, who knows, we might… even have a second child…”
My heart remained unmoved.
Only relief–relief that I finally had leverage to face him in our final confrontation.
