Chapter 39: Night Out

Angel and Mel arrived at the clubhouse just before the girls were leaving for their night out. Becks convinced Toad to let Nessie go also. Her ex had threatened to kill her and he was protective of his niece.
Toad talked to Angel for a few minutes. She did not know that her dad had ended things with Taz, or Jasmine as Angel kept calling her. He very carefully skated around the subject. Although he did not like to lie to his friend’s child, he also did not feel as though it was his place to share the news.
Toad made the suggestion that the two women should join Becks and the others and go out with them. Neither knew who the other was to Riffraff. Becks had to bite back laughter every time that Angel told Taz that her man wasn’t worth her tears. By the time Becks got a message from Molly saying that they were back, the two had become friends.
And the whole group learned way more about Evie’s sex life than any had ever expected to know.

The women were laughing at Nessie having nearly fallen on her face when her heel got caught on a lip of concrete. They all stumbled into the Shack laughing and teasing the feisty redhead.
“Are you sure that you’re not drunk?” Evie laughed.
“I’m Scottish, we don’t get drunk.” Nessie said with her lilt. “Besides, yer whiskey is
weak.”
“That’s true.” Mel agreed with her Spanish accent.
Taz was smiling when her eyes met with Riffraff’s. Her face fell as she froze in place.
Riffraff stepped away from the pool table. When he saw the look of pain on her face, he also froze. He was torn between going to her to take away the pain and kicking himself
for being the cause of it.
Angel looked from her dad to Taz as realization started to dawn on her. “Becks,” she asked quietly, “is her real name Jasmine?”

“Yeah.” Becks said trying to act innocent.
Angel muttered some curses in Spanish and caused Mel to raise an eyebrow in surprise.
Shaking off her girlfriend’s hand, she stormed to where her father stood, oblivious to her. The slap across his face echoed around the room and all remaining conversations ended.
Riffraff looked down to see his daughter standing in front of him, shaking her hand that now stung. “Ang-”
“Don’t.” She warned. “Complicated? She’s younger than you. That’s not a complication. That’s a circumstance of birth. If you would like to know complicated, your lesbian daughter and her girlfriend have been fucking the guy in the apartment next door to us. That is complicated. The fact that you’re in love is not.”
Having said her piece, Angel turned and stalked back towards.
“Where are you going?” Riffraff asked as his daughter grabbed Taz by the arm.
“I’m taking the woman who should be my stepmother to meet Nan since you won’t.” She told her father with an angry glare. “Tomorrow, after you pull your head out of your ass, you can come over and she can see what kind of an idiot she raised.”
“I-” he started to follow them but Molly stepped in front of him.
“Tomorrow.” He said taking the pool stick from him and handed it to Doc. “Come on, follow my pretty home.”
Reluctantly, Riffraff agreed and followed them home. He ended up staying at Mia’s house, none of Molly’s pretties wanted Riffraff at their place. Molly’s cousin Mia had known Riff most of his life. Had even crushed on him in her early teens.
Not that she would ever tell any of the men in her life about that.
