Chapter 3
My parents arrived to find Jake and me surrounded by a crowd of concerned onlookers.
It didn’t take a genius to figure out something serious had happened.
Mom rushed to embrace me protectively, but I flinched at her touch, memories of my previous life flooding back.
The bystanders quickly filled my parents in on what had just happened.
Dad raised his hand to slap Jake across the face, but before he could land the blow, Jake thrust the test results in front of him.]
“Dad, don’t look at it!” I lunged forward, desperate to snatch the report away.
But I was too late. Dad had already glanced at the paper.]
In an instant, his expression changed, his eyes widening with shock.
“Dad?” I whispered, my voice small and uncertain.
When he looked back at me, his eyes were bloodshot with rage. Without hesitation, he struck me across the face instead of Jake.
You ungrateful little bitch! Jake’s trying to abort this pregnancy foe your own good!“]
I stood there, utterly devastated.]
Still. I managed to defend myself through clenched teeth, “But the doctor just told us the baby is perfectly healthy!”
I’m an OB–GYN too, you dare argue with me?!” he snarled.[]
When I saw Dad raising his fist toward my stomach, Mom rushed forward and shielded me with her body.
“Have you lost your damn mind?!” she screamed at him. “She’s carrying your grandchild!“[]
But instead of backing down, Dad let out a cold laugh. “You feel sorry for her? This worthless slut doesn’t deserve to be our daughter!“]]
“Or carry our grandchild!” he added viciously.[]
Everyone around us gasped in shock.
People began confronting Dad, asking how a father could speak to his daughter that way.
Mom was breathing so hard she could barely speak, but she knew Dad was typically a gentle man.
There had to be something truly horrifying in that report.
“Let me see those test results,” she demanded.
I quickly moved to block her, my eyes pleading. “Mom, please, the doctor already confirmed the baby is healthy. Please don’t look, okay?”
“If you don’t believe me, we can go ask her directly,” I begged.[]
I knew with absolute certainty that if Mom saw that report, she’d instantly disown me too.
Mom wrapped her arms around me comfortingly. “Don’t worry, sweetie. Your dad and Jake are clearly misreading something. I used to be the head of OB GYN, remender? Trust my expertise.”
I shook my head vigorously. “No, Mom, please don’t look. I trust you, but please, please don’t look at it.“]
The more I tried to stop her, the more curious she became about what the report contained []
When i saw her determination, I dropped to my knees in desperation []
“Mon, if you look at that report, you ll stop loving me instantly–just like they did
“Thats ridiculous, Olivia,” she said gently “Tve seen every kind of test result in my career. And even if the baby wasn’t Jake’s, I would still stand by you no matter what You’re the person I love most in this world.

In the end, I couldn’t stop her.
The moment she saw the report, all warmth vanished from her expression, replaced by something dark and sinister that flashed in her eyes.[]
My entire body trembled with fear.
Mom’s face went ghostly pale as she looked at me with a bitter smile.[]
Unlike Dad and Jake’s explosive reactions, hers was controlled–which somehow made it even more terrifying.]
“Everything’s fine, Olivia,” she said, her voice like ice. “The baby’s fine. Get up now, we’re going home.”
Though her words suggested nothing was wrong, her outstretched hand was visibly shaking.
I know she was barely containing her emotions.
“No–I won’t go home with you.” I scrambled to my feet, backing into the crowd.]]
Mom’s eyes narrowed dangerously. “What do you think you’re doing? You’re pregnant–what if something happens to you out here?“]
As they started moving toward me, I grabbed the clothes of two nearby strangers, falling to my knees.[]
Please help me! I can’t go with them–they’re going to kill my baby!” I sobbed.[]
The strangers hesitated.
Though I was clearly pregnant, I probably looked emotionally unstable, and these people were my family–making it awkward for outsiders to intervene.
Thankfully, a few brave souls spoke up for me. 0
“She’s pregnant and clearly distressed. Maybe don’t force her to do anything right now,” one said.[]
Another added, “What if all this stress harms the baby?”
But my parents seemed deaf to these concerns, advancing toward me with twisted expressions.
Olivia, are you having paranoid delusions?” Mom asked loudly.[]
“Stop disrupting the hospital and come home with us now!” Dad ordered.[]
When my parents tried to physically grab me, a bystander stepped between us. “This is a hospital–she’s a pregnant woman in distress. Shouldn’t she see a doctor to make sure the baby’s okay?”
“We are obstetric doctors! She doesn’t need anyone else!” Dad roared at the man.
While the good Samaritan hesitated, Jake seized the opportunity to drag me from the crowd, roughly pulling me across the floor.
Even the most well–intentioned bystanders weren’t willing to physically fight my family.]
But suddenly, a firm hand blocked Jake’s path.[]
Who gave you permission to manhandle a pregnant woman like that?!” a police officer barked.]
Jake immediately released me []
My parents quickly intervened “Officer, this is our daughter. She has mental health issues–we need to take her home.”
The officer looked at me skeptically, and I quickly denied their claim.]
“That’s a lie! They’re trying to kill my perfectly healthy baby!“]
The three of them froze behind me, though I could sense their smug confidence.
Check the hospital security footage,” I pleaded “You’ll see they’ve all been trying to terminate my pregnancy by force.“[]
The offer requested the surveillance video
After viewing it a female officer positioned herself protectively in front of me {}
Why are you trying to abort this apparently healthy pregnancy against her will?” she demanded.{}
My parents just scoffed, while jake stared at the colly!

“Forcing an abortion on an unwilling woman is illegal!” the officer warned.]]
Jake remained unmoved by the threat.[]
I grabbed the officer’s arm by the chance. “Please, let me see my test results.“]
Everyone had transformed the moment they saw that report. The truth had to be in there.
Under police orders, Jake reluctantly surrendered the document.[]
As I finally examined the test results myself…]
I understood why they wanted me to abort my baby.[]
