Chapter 23
Chapter 23
Mr. and Mrs. Bennett were furious after the phone call,
“This is outrageous!” they exclaimed.
The sound of objects shattering filled the office, clearly showing their anger.
They had heard everything Stella said.
Hope faded once again from Adrian, Lucas, and Maxwell’s eyes.
They had thought her parents could pressure Stella.
After all, she had once desperately craved her parents‘ love.
But now, after leaving the Bennett family and marrying into the Wilson family, she seemed to care about nothing
She didn’t care if they apologized or regretted their actions.
Because she no longer loved them at all.
Remorse surged within the three men like turbulent waves.
Adrian’s expression gradually turned cold. “Since you can’t influence Stella’s decision, there’s no need to continue this partnership,” he said flatly.
With that, he turned and left without hesitation.
Lucas and Maxwell followed closely behind.
Leaving the Bennett Corporation building, they had gained nothing and only earned Stella’s disgust.
Maxwell kicked his car tire, silently venting his frustration.
After a long silence, Lucas finally spoke: “Stella refuses to see us and won’t divorce. What should we do?”
Adrian’s voice was dry and hoarse. “Are you willing to give up?”
The three men exchanged glances, each seeing the determination in the others‘ eyes. Undoubtedly, none of them wanted to surrender.
He sighed deeply. “What else can we do? We can’t force her; we can only try to win her over.”
With that, Adrian got into his car.
Three days later was Stella’s birthday.
In previous years, they had always spent this day by her sido Thi—
Chapter 23
Adrian, Lucas, and Maxwell went their separate ways, each returning home to prepare birthday gifts.
For three consecutive days, Stella enjoyed unusual peace. She thought they had given up after the last incident.
She quietly enjoyed life with James.
This birthday was her first since marrying into the Wilson family, and Mr. and Mrs. Wilson took it very seriously.
Mr. Wilson handed Stella a black card, while Mrs. Wilson gave her a key.
Stella held the key, unsure of its purpose.
James chuckled and whispered in her car: “This is the key to the Wilson family’s treasure vault, where all our precious jewelry is kept. It’s the key to the final door. With it, you have access to countless treasures and jewelry.”
She suddenly felt the key burning in her hand and tried to give it back to James.
“Something this important should be kept by you. I’m afraid I might lose it.”
James didn’t mind, holding her hand to close around the key.
“What’s given to you is yours. It doesn’t matter if you lose it–they’re just material possessions. Their value lies in your appreciation; without that, they’re meaningless.”
Mr. and Mrs. Wilson nodded in agreement. “James is right. As long as you’re happy, that’s what matters. If there’s anything else you like, just ask James to buy it, or use the black card. James earns money for you to spend.”
Stella was deeply touched.
As the birthday celebration began, countless guests offered her their sincere wishes.
She held James’s hand tightly, and they exchanged smiles.
It seemed that even without Adrian, Lucas, and Maxwell celebrating her birthday with her, she would still be happy.
As the party was winding down, Stella, feeling a bit tired, took a walk in the garden hand in hand with James.
Suddenly, Adrian, Lucas, and Maxwell climbed over the wall into the garden.
They had been denied entry at all the hotel doors and could only enter through the garden.
Seeing the leaves clinging to their clothes, Stella was oddly reminded of how they used to come find her when they were young.
However, she felt no nostalgia, only irritation.
“I’ve said it many times: stop looking for me. I won’t turn back, and I won’t love you.”
“What will it take for you to give up?”

Chapter 23
Maxwell carefully produced a simple birthday cake from behind his back, and Adrian helped light the candles.
“Stella! Happy birthday!” the three shouted excitedly, their eyes still shining with love.
Lucas took out three birthday gifts–not expensive items, but the reconciliation cards that Stella had handmade long
ago.
“Stella, do you remember? When we played that game before, you said that no matter when, if we presented these reconciliation cards, you would forgive us regardless of any conflict.”
“All these years, we’ve been reluctant to use them. Are they still valid?”
